Master Attic did a phenomenal job with our attic insulation and duct replacement. We had a loss from smoke damage from a neighboring fire and we were met with compassion and excellent customer service from Danny Jones and Jorge Diaz. We chose them for their quality of work, expertise and fair pricing and they got the job done promptly. Thank you for the excellent work and we will be recommending you highly!

Bringing a Toms River Attic Up to Standard
Every attic insulation job in Toms River opens with a full walk-through of that particular attic, a ranch from the town's 1950s and 60s boom or a house that went up only recently. We check what's already up there, trace where warm room air is leaking into the attic, and put together a written recommendation for that specific space before any material gets ordered.
Sealing comes first: the top plates, the chase around the flue and any recessed lighting get closed off, and baffles go in at each soffit bay so the vents stay clear once the new depth goes down. Only once that's done does the blown-in fill or the batts actually get installed. Where the existing material is wet, moldy or has been nested in by squirrels or raccoons, which shows up often enough near the Pine Barrens edge of town, it comes out under vacuum before any new material is installed.
The estimate itself is free and comes to you in writing, with what we found in the attic, what we recommend, and why. A tight Cape Cod attic in West Dover and an open ranch attic in Silverton rarely call for the exact same plan, which is why the inspection, not a standard package, decides what goes into yours.

Conditions Behind Most Toms River Attic Jobs
Four recurring conditions behind the attic insulation calls we take in Toms River, NJ.
Most Toms River ranch and Cape Cod attics date to the 1950s and 70s, and the insulation they started with falls short of today's target for this stretch of the Jersey Shore, no matter how many renovations the rooms below have seen since.
A Nor'easter off Barnegat Bay can pack snow against a roofline the moment any opening lets warm air slip through underneath, and that trapped heat melts the snow from below before it refreezes into an ice dam right at the cold eave.
Tree cover along Toms River's inland edge, North Dover and Pleasant Plains especially, puts squirrels and raccoons right on the roof, and an old soffit gap is often all it takes for them to get into the insulation.
A Holiday City attic sits low and tight over an attached home, while a Cape Cod attic in West Dover has knee walls and sloped ceilings to work around, which changes how a crew stages the job before it ever starts blowing insulation.

We just had our attic insulation replaced, and the entire experience was pleasant from start to finish. Robert is knowledgeable, honest and easy to work with at the initial estimate period. Roberta and his crew did a great job replacing the attic insulation for our house. They were very professional, efficient and respectful. They did everything that needed to be done and left the space clean and in excellent condition. I am very happy that I chose Master Attic and would highly recommend them.
Dan Jones and the Ronald crew did a great job from start to finish! I had original insulation in my attic with no electricity, not an easy job. Our upstairs was very hot in the summer and cold in winter. With having central air, we still needed AC units and space heaters to manage. Dan set up a great plan to eliminate that. He and his crew were able to come and finish the job shortly after we first met. They were quick, clean and managed to crawl into small spaces to remove old insulation and install fresh insulation. We have already noticed a major difference! Highly recommended!!
We hired Master Attic to clean out debris, mice, old insulation, and replace with new insulation in both our attic spaces. Roberto and his crew did a phenomenal job. They were extremely professional, polite, and did a fantastic job. They invited my husband to see the attic after each step, and took pictures on their phone to show me since I could not get up in the attic. They took the time to protect the space with plastic sheeting before the job up in the attic, and then cleaned up everything perfectly afterwards. I highly recommend them!
Great job by the team. Cleaned out the entire attic and replaced all the old insulation with new fresh insulation. Made a huge difference. Alex was great to work with and was very professional. Would highly recommend.
Awesome experience from start to finish. Rob provided a great assessment and capabilities overview, arrived on time and was very generous and thorough in explaining the work. I signed on the spot. A crew of six arrived (again, on time) and completely transformed our attic space - thoroughly cleaned out the old insulation (looked spotless afterwards), sanitized the space, sealed it/rodent proofed it, added baffles and of course, replaced the insulation and added more in areas that needed it. Completed the whole job in half a day and we are delighted with the result. Thank you, Master Attic team, for a job very well done! Highest recommendation.
What a great experience I had with this company and its employees. It started with initially interacting with Joe who came out for the estimate. He was funny because he came down from my attic and said "have you seen up there". I laughed because I had and I knew it was bad. He was no pressure and no nonsense. Gave me an estimate and said if I wanted we could have the work done next day. I wasn't ready for that but after some schedule juggling I told him we could be ready. Joe had his guys out next morning with the best part being Jorge calling me to advise he was about thirty minutes out. I appreciate when I am given a heads up as to ETA. Three of them arrived Jorge set out plastic and covered exposed furniture. Jorge, Angel and Gonzalo were all polite and worked hard to complete the task. They worked efficiently and were done quickly. Jorge made sure he included me in each step of the process and when I saw the finished product I was amazed. I can actually use my attic for storage if I choose to do so. I did not realize when they were here that they also do work on crawlspace areas. I will be calling them back to see what they can do for my crawlspace which easily rivals the diasaster called my attic. I recommend at least giving this company and its employees an opportunity to help you.
Great company to work with. From beginning to end, Dan came out, spent plenty of time with me going over everything that needed to be done, and the process of everything that needed to be updated it both attics. His professionalism was top notch, answered all my question and concerns. When it came time for George and his six-man crew to do the work their quality of workmanship was well above average, they were here the whole day, and I don't think they even had a lunch break (hopefully I don't get him in trouble). They all worked and everyone knew what their job was, they removed all the insulation, cleaned, spray foamed all holes and top plates, re-insulated both attics and cleaned up like they weren't even here. Will definitely use them again.
Master Attic remediated a bat issue for us back in October and I can’t say enough about what a wonderful job they did. The work was guaranteed and they encouraged us to call if we say any further evidence of bats. Well, there were a few droppings in the attic and they quickly responded to our concerns. Jose’s crew came out on a SUNDAY, inspected the attic, and sealed up several spots that could be entry points. They were professional, efficient, and kind. I would highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.
Attic Insulation in Toms River: Questions We Get
What does an attic insulation job in Toms River actually involve?
A full inspection first: what's already up there, where the air leaks are, and how the attic vents. From there we seal the top plates and chases, set baffles at the soffits, and blow in or lay batts across the floor, pulling old material first if it's wet or has had rodents in it. Every step lands on the same written estimate before work starts.
How long does attic insulation take in a Toms River house?
The attic itself decides. A ranch attic that just needs a blown-in top-up moves fast, while pulling old material, cleaning up after wildlife, or working through a tight Holiday City attic adds real time to the job. Larger Cape Cod attics with more roofline to seal generally run longer than a single-story ranch. The schedule for your attic gets spelled out in the written estimate, so nothing is a surprise once the crew arrives.
Does Toms River qualify for any attic insulation rebates?
JCP&L serves electric accounts in Toms River, and insulation and sealing work like this has, in some years, been funded through New Jersey's Clean Energy Program. Offerings shift, so ask your estimator which incentives are open the week we're at your attic, or check the program's current listings yourself.
Does the salt air near the bay affect attic insulation?
It can. Near Ortley Beach and the rest of the barrier island, the air carries steady salt and moisture that finds its way into an attic wherever the floor isn't fully sealed, which is why ridge and soffit ventilation gets extra attention on those inspections, more than it typically would a few miles inland.
Blown-in or batts for a Toms River ranch or Cape Cod?
Open ranch attics in Silverton and North Dover usually take blown-in fastest, since it fills every odd corner without extra cutting. Cape Cod attics with knee walls and sloped ceilings, common in West Dover and Pleasant Plains, often need batts where loose fill would just slide downhill. Plenty of attics end up with a mix of both, sorted out once we're actually inside looking around.
Does new attic insulation in Toms River go directly over the old material, or does it need to come out first?
Often, yes, when what's there is dry and clean, topping it off with new blown-in material is a common approach. It comes out first if it's wet, if squirrels or raccoons have been nesting there, which happens more near the wooded inland edge of town, or if it's hiding a top plate or duct chase that still needs sealing underneath.
Do you insulate attics outside Toms River proper?
We're out in Lakewood, Brick, Jackson and Manchester on a regular basis, plus Berkeley Township and the barrier island side of Seaside Heights, all part of the same Ocean County service area as Toms River itself. Ranch and Cape Cod construction from that same postwar stretch is common throughout those towns too, so the walk-through and install process we use there matches what happens here.
Does a newer Toms River house still need an attic insulation check?
Yes. A house finished within the last couple of decades can still fall short of what current guidance expects, especially around recessed lighting, ductwork chases and the attic hatch, gaps builders can leave no matter how recently a roof was framed. A hands-on look inside is what actually tells you where your attic stands.
