Master Attic did a phenomenal job with our attic insulation and duct replacement. Attic Services
Jackson's home building never slowed the way it did in older suburbs, from the thousand-unit years of the 1970s and 80s through the colonials still going up today. Older sections around Cassville and Whitesville sit under thin original batts, while newer colonials bring their own problem: bonus rooms over the garage and cathedral ceilings finished to code-minimum insulation, chases left unsealed. Both need air sealing before new insulation goes in.

Squirrels chew wiring and tear up insulation once they get into an attic. We remove them and close the entry points.
Squirrel Removal →A raccoon can wreck attic insulation and ductwork in weeks and leave dangerous droppings behind. Safe removal plus repair of the damage.
Raccoon Removal →Bats roost in quiet attic corners and their droppings contaminate everything below. Humane exclusion plus full cleanup.
Bat Removal →Mice squeeze in through gaps the width of a pencil, nest in the insulation and leave droppings across the attic floor. Removal, then sealing the gaps so they stay out.
Attic Mice Removal →Wildlife tears openings where the roof meets the walls, and every gap is an open door. We seal the entry points and repair the damage.
Rodent Proofing →Thin, patchy insulation lets heated and cooled air escape into the attic all year. Upgrading it cuts energy bills.
Attic Insulation →Moisture in the crawl space feeds mold and rots the framing under your floor. Encapsulation seals out the damp ground air.
Crawl Space Encapsulation →New batts fill every joist bay edge to edge, so heated and cooled air stays in the rooms below instead of bleeding into the attic. Lower bills, even temperatures.
Attic Insulation →A vented ridge lets hot, moist air escape at the peak while baffles keep the soffit intake open. Balanced airflow protects the roof deck and keeps the new insulation dry.
Attic Ventilation →The roofline gap the wildlife used is sealed with rodent-proof mesh and sealant, along with every other opening we found. Nothing gets back in.
Rodent Proofing →Droppings, nesting debris and the contaminated insulation are gone, and the framing is treated so odors and bacteria do not linger in the air you breathe.
Attic Cleanup →A sealed vapor barrier covers the ground and walls, so damp soil air can no longer feed mold or rot the floor framing above it.
Crawl Space Encapsulation →What is going wrong here
- Thin, patchy attic insulation lets heated and cooled air leak up into the attic, and the energy bill pays for every bit of it.
- Warm air pours out through the roofline gap and the ridge instead of staying where it belongs.
- Squirrels, raccoons, bats and mice have moved in; droppings and nesting cover the attic floor.
- Damp ground air rises through the crawl space and feeds mold under the floor.
What changed
- Full-depth insulation keeps conditioned air in the living space where it belongs.
- Warm attic air stays upstairs and vents out at the ridge the way it should.
- Every entry point is sealed and the attic is cleaned and sanitized; nothing lives up there but insulation.
- The crawl space is sealed and dry, so ground moisture stays in the ground.
Built Around Jackson Attics & Crawl Spaces
Jackson covers more than 100 square miles, the largest township in Ocean County, and that size holds a wide range of housing inside one town: rural stock around Cassville and Whitesville, subdivisions from the 1970s and 80s building boom, and colonials still being framed today.
Bonus rooms over the garage and cathedral ceilings in newer colonials get built to code-minimum insulation, and those irregular chases are exactly where coverage runs thin.
Jackson sits over the shallow Kirkwood-Cohansey aquifer that feeds Pine Barrens wetlands, keeping many of the township's crawl spaces damp enough to sag insulation and hold a musty smell.
Wooded lots at the edge of the Pine Barrens put squirrels, raccoons, bats and mice within reach of nearly every roofline, and an unsealed soffit is all it takes.
Ocean County winters swing across the freeze line instead of staying cold, and warm air leaking from an unsealed attic melts snow unevenly enough to build ice at the eaves.

We just had our attic insulation replaced, and the entire experience was pleasant from start to finish. Robert is knowledgeable, honest and easy to work with at the initial estimate period. Roberta and his crew did a great job replacing the attic insulation for our house. They were very professional, efficient and respectful. They did everything that needed to be done and left the space clean and in excellent condition. I am very happy that I chose Master Attic and would highly recommend them.
Dan Jones and the Ronald crew did a great job from start to finish! I had original insulation in my attic with no electricity, not an easy job. Our upstairs was very hot in the summer and cold in winter. With having central air, we still needed AC units and space heaters to manage. Dan set up a great plan to eliminate that. He and his crew were able to come and finish the job shortly after we first met. They were quick, clean and managed to crawl into small spaces to remove old insulation and install fresh insulation. We have already noticed a major difference! Highly recommended!!
We hired Master Attic to clean out debris, mice, old insulation, and replace with new insulation in both our attic spaces. Roberto and his crew did a phenomenal job. They were extremely professional, polite, and did a fantastic job. They invited my husband to see the attic after each step, and took pictures on their phone to show me since I could not get up in the attic. They took the time to protect the space with plastic sheeting before the job up in the attic, and then cleaned up everything perfectly afterwards. I highly recommend them!
Great job by the team. Cleaned out the entire attic and replaced all the old insulation with new fresh insulation. Made a huge difference. Alex was great to work with and was very professional. Would highly recommend.
Awesome experience from start to finish. Rob provided a great assessment and capabilities overview, arrived on time and was very generous and thorough in explaining the work. I signed on the spot. A crew of six arrived (again, on time) and completely transformed our attic space - thoroughly cleaned out the old insulation (looked spotless afterwards), sanitized the space, sealed it/rodent proofed it, added baffles and of course, replaced the insulation and added more in areas that needed it. Completed the whole job in half a day and we are delighted with the result. Thank you, Master Attic team, for a job very well done! Highest recommendation.
What a great experience I had with this company and its employees. It started with initially interacting with Joe who came out for the estimate. He was funny because he came down from my attic and said "have you seen up there". I laughed because I had and I knew it was bad. He was no pressure and no nonsense. Gave me an estimate and said if I wanted we could have the work done next day. I wasn't ready for that but after some schedule juggling I told him we could be ready. Joe had his guys out next morning with the best part being Jorge calling me to advise he was about thirty minutes out. I appreciate when I am given a heads up as to ETA. Three of them arrived Jorge set out plastic and covered exposed furniture. Jorge, Angel and Gonzalo were all polite and worked hard to complete the task. They worked efficiently and were done quickly. Jorge made sure he included me in each step of the process and when I saw the finished product I was amazed. I can actually use my attic for storage if I choose to do so. I did not realize when they were here that they also do work on crawlspace areas. I will be calling them back to see what they can do for my crawlspace which easily rivals the diasaster called my attic. I recommend at least giving this company and its employees an opportunity to help you.
Great company to work with. From beginning to end, Dan came out, spent plenty of time with me going over everything that needed to be done, and the process of everything that needed to be updated it both attics. His professionalism was top notch, answered all my question and concerns. When it came time for George and his six-man crew to do the work their quality of workmanship was well above average, they were here the whole day, and I don't think they even had a lunch break (hopefully I don't get him in trouble). They all worked and everyone knew what their job was, they removed all the insulation, cleaned, spray foamed all holes and top plates, re-insulated both attics and cleaned up like they weren't even here. Will definitely use them again.
Master Attic remediated a bat issue for us back in October and I can’t say enough about what a wonderful job they did. The work was guaranteed and they encouraged us to call if we say any further evidence of bats. Well, there were a few droppings in the attic and they quickly responded to our concerns. Jose’s crew came out on a SUNDAY, inspected the attic, and sealed up several spots that could be entry points. They were professional, efficient, and kind. I would highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much attic insulation does a Jackson home need?
Today's target for attics in this part of New Jersey sits well above what most existing houses carry, and the exact figure depends on the type of material used. Older sections of Jackson often sit well under that with original batts, and newer colonials can fall short too if builder-grade insulation was never brought up to today's standard. An inspection tells you exactly where you stand.
Why do Jackson crawl spaces stay damp even in a dry summer?
Jackson sits over the Kirkwood-Cohansey aquifer, the shallow water table that keeps the Pine Barrens wetlands fed, and it runs close to the surface under a lot of the township. A vented crawl space pulls that ground moisture against the framing year round, which is why insulation sags and floors stay cold. Encapsulation puts a sealed barrier between that ground moisture and your framing.
Are there New Jersey incentives for insulation upgrades in Jackson?
Jackson is JCP&L territory, and insulation and air sealing rebates have come through the statewide NJ Clean Energy Program before. Offers move around, so the fastest way to know what applies to your project is to ask during the estimate, we can point you to what's active.
My Jackson house is only about ten years old, why would the attic already need work?
New construction still gets built to code minimums, not the deeper coverage that performs well long term, and bonus rooms over the garage or cathedral ceilings are common weak spots in Jackson's newer colonials. If one room runs hot in summer and cold in winter while the rest of the house is comfortable, that usually points to insulation or air sealing that was never finished properly around it.
What are the signs that squirrels, raccoons or bats have gotten into a Jackson attic?
Scratching or thumping overhead around dawn and dusk, droppings collected near the soffits, insulation pulled into a nesting pile, and a sharp ammonia smell are the main signs. Jackson's wooded lots put the township close to real Pine Barrens wildlife, so entry almost always starts at a roofline gap rather than anywhere at ground level.
How long does an attic job take in a typical Jackson colonial or split-level?
A newer colonial with a clean, accessible attic is generally the quickest kind of job to schedule. Older split-levels around Cassville and Whitesville, or any attic where contaminated insulation has to come out first, take meaningfully longer. You'll get the actual schedule as part of your estimate before work begins.
Which towns around Jackson do you serve?
All of Ocean County, plus the Monmouth County side of Jackson's border. That covers Lakewood, Manchester and Toms River in Ocean County, and Freehold Township and Howell across the line in Monmouth. Crews run through this stretch of central Jersey regularly, so scheduling rarely stretches out.
Does every home in Jackson have a crawl space, or are basements common too?
Both. Newer developments across the township tend to run full basements, while older construction around Cassville, Whitesville and other rural sections is more likely to sit on a crawl space. We inspect whichever your house has, since a humid crawl space and a leaky attic often trace back to the same air movement problem.
