Master Attic did a phenomenal job with our attic insulation and duct replacement. We had a loss from smoke damage from a neighboring fire and we were met with compassion and excellent customer service from Danny Jones and Jorge Diaz. We chose them for their quality of work, expertise and fair pricing and they got the job done promptly. Thank you for the excellent work and we will be recommending you highly!

How We Encapsulate a Crawl Space in Jackson
Ground water in Jackson tends to run high, especially near the wetlands that border the Pine Barrens, and that keeps a good number of the township's older crawl spaces damp well into a dry summer. A vented crawl space has no defense against that: moisture moves straight through the vents and across the exposed dirt floor, so encapsulation starts by sealing both, the ground and the vents themselves. That is a fix for ongoing ground moisture, not for a crawl space that is actually holding standing water. A flooded space needs to be pumped out and dried first, which we scope as its own job before any liner goes down.
A heavy vapor barrier goes down across the entire floor and runs up the foundation walls, overlapped and taped at every seam so there is no gap for ground moisture to find. Any vent that used to let outside air in gets closed off, and anything left behind from before, old batts, debris, whatever a previously vented setup let in, comes out before the barrier goes down.
The result is a crawl space that stops behaving like the outdoors and starts behaving like part of the house, dry underfoot and sealed off from whatever the water table is doing above the surface. It is a bigger job in the older, rural sections around Jackson Mills and Prospertown, where crawl spaces are more common, and a smaller one in the newer developments where full basements are more typical, but the inspection is what decides how much work a specific crawl space needs, and the estimate is free.

What We Find in Jackson Crawl Spaces
The four conditions that come up most in the crawl spaces we encapsulate around Jackson.
Jackson's ground water sits closer to the surface than in a lot of Ocean County, feeding the wetlands along the Pine Barrens edge, and that keeps a good share of the township's crawl spaces damp even in a dry stretch of summer, which is exactly what a vapor barrier is built to stop.
Batts installed in a vented crawl space are fighting ground moisture from the day they go in, and around Cassville and Whitesville, a rural stretch that still runs mostly crawl spaces instead of basements, a lot of that original insulation has pulled loose from years of damp air moving underneath it.
A vented, humid crawl space is a quiet place for mice and, less often, a raccoon to den, and once the vents are sealed and the barrier is down, that draw disappears along with the moisture that made the space worth denning in.
The rural stretches around Jackson Mills and Prospertown carry more of the township's older, crawl-space-built houses, while the newer developments closer to town center tend to run full basements instead, so the size of an encapsulation job varies a lot from one part of Jackson to another.

We just had our attic insulation replaced, and the entire experience was pleasant from start to finish. Robert is knowledgeable, honest and easy to work with at the initial estimate period. Roberta and his crew did a great job replacing the attic insulation for our house. They were very professional, efficient and respectful. They did everything that needed to be done and left the space clean and in excellent condition. I am very happy that I chose Master Attic and would highly recommend them.
Dan Jones and the Ronald crew did a great job from start to finish! I had original insulation in my attic with no electricity, not an easy job. Our upstairs was very hot in the summer and cold in winter. With having central air, we still needed AC units and space heaters to manage. Dan set up a great plan to eliminate that. He and his crew were able to come and finish the job shortly after we first met. They were quick, clean and managed to crawl into small spaces to remove old insulation and install fresh insulation. We have already noticed a major difference! Highly recommended!!
We hired Master Attic to clean out debris, mice, old insulation, and replace with new insulation in both our attic spaces. Roberto and his crew did a phenomenal job. They were extremely professional, polite, and did a fantastic job. They invited my husband to see the attic after each step, and took pictures on their phone to show me since I could not get up in the attic. They took the time to protect the space with plastic sheeting before the job up in the attic, and then cleaned up everything perfectly afterwards. I highly recommend them!
Great job by the team. Cleaned out the entire attic and replaced all the old insulation with new fresh insulation. Made a huge difference. Alex was great to work with and was very professional. Would highly recommend.
Awesome experience from start to finish. Rob provided a great assessment and capabilities overview, arrived on time and was very generous and thorough in explaining the work. I signed on the spot. A crew of six arrived (again, on time) and completely transformed our attic space - thoroughly cleaned out the old insulation (looked spotless afterwards), sanitized the space, sealed it/rodent proofed it, added baffles and of course, replaced the insulation and added more in areas that needed it. Completed the whole job in half a day and we are delighted with the result. Thank you, Master Attic team, for a job very well done! Highest recommendation.
What a great experience I had with this company and its employees. It started with initially interacting with Joe who came out for the estimate. He was funny because he came down from my attic and said "have you seen up there". I laughed because I had and I knew it was bad. He was no pressure and no nonsense. Gave me an estimate and said if I wanted we could have the work done next day. I wasn't ready for that but after some schedule juggling I told him we could be ready. Joe had his guys out next morning with the best part being Jorge calling me to advise he was about thirty minutes out. I appreciate when I am given a heads up as to ETA. Three of them arrived Jorge set out plastic and covered exposed furniture. Jorge, Angel and Gonzalo were all polite and worked hard to complete the task. They worked efficiently and were done quickly. Jorge made sure he included me in each step of the process and when I saw the finished product I was amazed. I can actually use my attic for storage if I choose to do so. I did not realize when they were here that they also do work on crawlspace areas. I will be calling them back to see what they can do for my crawlspace which easily rivals the diasaster called my attic. I recommend at least giving this company and its employees an opportunity to help you.
Great company to work with. From beginning to end, Dan came out, spent plenty of time with me going over everything that needed to be done, and the process of everything that needed to be updated it both attics. His professionalism was top notch, answered all my question and concerns. When it came time for George and his six-man crew to do the work their quality of workmanship was well above average, they were here the whole day, and I don't think they even had a lunch break (hopefully I don't get him in trouble). They all worked and everyone knew what their job was, they removed all the insulation, cleaned, spray foamed all holes and top plates, re-insulated both attics and cleaned up like they weren't even here. Will definitely use them again.
Master Attic remediated a bat issue for us back in October and I can’t say enough about what a wonderful job they did. The work was guaranteed and they encouraged us to call if we say any further evidence of bats. Well, there were a few droppings in the attic and they quickly responded to our concerns. Jose’s crew came out on a SUNDAY, inspected the attic, and sealed up several spots that could be entry points. They were professional, efficient, and kind. I would highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.
Crawl Space Encapsulation in Jackson: Questions We Get
How does a Jackson crawl space actually get encapsulated?
A heavy-gauge liner goes down over the dirt floor and up the foundation walls, joined and sealed at every seam, and any vent letting in outside air or moisture gets closed for good. Old insulation, debris and anything left over from a previous vented setup comes out ahead of time, so the liner ends up sealed against a genuinely clean surface.
How long does encapsulating a Jackson crawl space take?
Size is only half of it; condition matters just as much. A tidy, already-dry crawl space goes faster than one carrying years of old insulation and debris that has to be pulled first. You will see the specific schedule in your written estimate before anything starts.
What New Jersey incentive programs apply to crawl space encapsulation work in Jackson?
Jackson is JCP&L territory, and crawl space encapsulation paired with air sealing has qualified for NJ Clean Energy Program rebates in past years. We will confirm exactly what is currently available when you book your estimate, so you know what applies before any work starts.
Encapsulation sounds like a crawl space thing. Does it matter for a Jackson house built over a full basement?
Encapsulation itself is a crawl space service, but plenty of Jackson basements still have an exposed rim joist leaking air the same way an unsealed crawl space would, so an inspection is worth it either way. Whether your specific space calls for a full barrier or a smaller air sealing fix gets sorted out on site.
How do you decide if a crawl space needs full encapsulation or just a repair?
The extent of the job follows from what the inspection turns up. A crawl space with isolated moisture at one vent might just need that vent sealed and the insulation nearby checked, while one with damp ground throughout and insulation coming loose across the whole space needs the full barrier. Which one your crawl space is gets decided during the walk-through.
Can encapsulation go in over insulation that is already down there?
If it is dry and clean, it can sometimes stay under the new barrier. Batts that have gone wet, moldy or loose are a common find under Jackson's older vents, and those come out ahead of the liner, since sealing a barrier over damaged material just traps the moisture already inside it.
Which towns near Jackson do you encapsulate crawl spaces in?
Every town bordering Jackson is covered: Lakewood and Manchester to the south, Toms River further down Ocean County, and Freehold Township and Howell over the line in Monmouth County. Scheduling an encapsulation visit in any of them is routine for our crews.
Does an encapsulated Jackson crawl space ever need attention again down the road?
The liner itself is not something we put on a redo schedule, it is built to hold up under ordinary conditions for as many years as the house needs it. What actually shifts things over time is the ground moving or a seam getting disturbed by later work under the house, and our crews look for exactly that whenever they are underneath a Jackson property for a separate job. A new moisture complaint years later usually traces to one vent or seam rather than the barrier failing outright.
