Master Attic did a phenomenal job with our attic insulation and duct replacement. We had a loss from smoke damage from a neighboring fire and we were met with compassion and excellent customer service from Danny Jones and Jorge Diaz. We chose them for their quality of work, expertise and fair pricing and they got the job done promptly. Thank you for the excellent work and we will be recommending you highly!

How We Rodent Proof Medford Lakes Attics & Crawl Spaces
Rodent proofing in Medford Lakes starts with finding where squirrels, raccoons or mice are actually getting in, not just treating the symptoms inside the attic. The borough's original cabins carry decades of chinking and trim gaps at the roofline, openings that let heat escape as easily as they let animals through. On cabins re-sided or built later in the colony's history, the openings tend to be smaller and fewer, a lifted fascia board or a gap where a soffit was never quite sealed.
Once we find the opening, we close it and clear out whatever the animal left behind: droppings, nesting material, and on the older cabins, insulation that has been fouled for longer than anyone realized. Medford Lakes sits inside a vast stretch of protected Pinelands forest, and tree cover on many lake lots runs close enough to the roofline that sealing one gap rarely ends the pressure completely. We check the rest of the roofline, and the crawl space or pier foundation underneath the older cabins, for any other way in before calling the job finished.
Every rodent-proofing job in Medford Lakes gets a free, written estimate before any work starts. It lists each entry point we found, what has to be removed and sanitized, and what sealing the roofline or crawl space will involve on that specific cabin or house. A 1920s log cabin and a house built after the colony went year-round rarely need the same work, which is exactly why we inspect first.

What We Find in Medford Lakes Attics & Crawl Spaces
Four situations come up again and again on Medford Lakes rodent-proofing calls.
The Pinelands forest that surrounds Medford Lakes puts mature tree cover within easy reach of the roofline on most of the borough's lake lots. That gives squirrels and raccoons a running start onto the eaves, and older cabin trim with years of gaps gives them more places to push through than newer siding allows.
Once an animal gets past the roofline, droppings, urine and nesting material settle into whatever insulation is up there, original or added later when a cabin was winterized for year-round living. Sealing the entry point only stops new activity. What is already contaminated has to come out and be sanitized separately.
A share of Medford Lakes' earliest cabins started as low, ground-hugging summer cottages set on piers instead of a poured foundation. That open, low-clearance space underneath is a separate access point on its own, unrelated to whatever is or is not sealed up at the roofline.
As Burlington County temperatures drop through the fall, mice and squirrels start looking for somewhere warm and dry to spend the winter, and an older cabin with years of chinking and trim gaps is an easier find than a newer, tightly sided house. Fall and winter calls make up a large share of what we see in Medford Lakes.

We just had our attic insulation replaced, and the entire experience was pleasant from start to finish. Robert is knowledgeable, honest and easy to work with at the initial estimate period. Roberta and his crew did a great job replacing the attic insulation for our house. They were very professional, efficient and respectful. They did everything that needed to be done and left the space clean and in excellent condition. I am very happy that I chose Master Attic and would highly recommend them.
Dan Jones and the Ronald crew did a great job from start to finish! I had original insulation in my attic with no electricity, not an easy job. Our upstairs was very hot in the summer and cold in winter. With having central air, we still needed AC units and space heaters to manage. Dan set up a great plan to eliminate that. He and his crew were able to come and finish the job shortly after we first met. They were quick, clean and managed to crawl into small spaces to remove old insulation and install fresh insulation. We have already noticed a major difference! Highly recommended!!
We hired Master Attic to clean out debris, mice, old insulation, and replace with new insulation in both our attic spaces. Roberto and his crew did a phenomenal job. They were extremely professional, polite, and did a fantastic job. They invited my husband to see the attic after each step, and took pictures on their phone to show me since I could not get up in the attic. They took the time to protect the space with plastic sheeting before the job up in the attic, and then cleaned up everything perfectly afterwards. I highly recommend them!
Great job by the team. Cleaned out the entire attic and replaced all the old insulation with new fresh insulation. Made a huge difference. Alex was great to work with and was very professional. Would highly recommend.
Awesome experience from start to finish. Rob provided a great assessment and capabilities overview, arrived on time and was very generous and thorough in explaining the work. I signed on the spot. A crew of six arrived (again, on time) and completely transformed our attic space - thoroughly cleaned out the old insulation (looked spotless afterwards), sanitized the space, sealed it/rodent proofed it, added baffles and of course, replaced the insulation and added more in areas that needed it. Completed the whole job in half a day and we are delighted with the result. Thank you, Master Attic team, for a job very well done! Highest recommendation.
What a great experience I had with this company and its employees. It started with initially interacting with Joe who came out for the estimate. He was funny because he came down from my attic and said "have you seen up there". I laughed because I had and I knew it was bad. He was no pressure and no nonsense. Gave me an estimate and said if I wanted we could have the work done next day. I wasn't ready for that but after some schedule juggling I told him we could be ready. Joe had his guys out next morning with the best part being Jorge calling me to advise he was about thirty minutes out. I appreciate when I am given a heads up as to ETA. Three of them arrived Jorge set out plastic and covered exposed furniture. Jorge, Angel and Gonzalo were all polite and worked hard to complete the task. They worked efficiently and were done quickly. Jorge made sure he included me in each step of the process and when I saw the finished product I was amazed. I can actually use my attic for storage if I choose to do so. I did not realize when they were here that they also do work on crawlspace areas. I will be calling them back to see what they can do for my crawlspace which easily rivals the diasaster called my attic. I recommend at least giving this company and its employees an opportunity to help you.
Great company to work with. From beginning to end, Dan came out, spent plenty of time with me going over everything that needed to be done, and the process of everything that needed to be updated it both attics. His professionalism was top notch, answered all my question and concerns. When it came time for George and his six-man crew to do the work their quality of workmanship was well above average, they were here the whole day, and I don't think they even had a lunch break (hopefully I don't get him in trouble). They all worked and everyone knew what their job was, they removed all the insulation, cleaned, spray foamed all holes and top plates, re-insulated both attics and cleaned up like they weren't even here. Will definitely use them again.
Master Attic remediated a bat issue for us back in October and I can’t say enough about what a wonderful job they did. The work was guaranteed and they encouraged us to call if we say any further evidence of bats. Well, there were a few droppings in the attic and they quickly responded to our concerns. Jose’s crew came out on a SUNDAY, inspected the attic, and sealed up several spots that could be entry points. They were professional, efficient, and kind. I would highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.
Rodent Proofing in Medford Lakes: Questions We Get
What does a Medford Lakes exclusion crew actually do while on-site?
They go over the roofline, the soffits and, on the older cabins, the space under the pier foundation, hunting for every opening an animal could be using rather than stopping at the one that is obvious. Each gap gets closed with weather-resistant material, the crew clears out whatever has been living up there, and a sanitizing pass wraps up the visit.
How long does a rodent-proofing job in Medford Lakes usually take?
Every roofline is different, and the honest answer only comes after our crew has actually counted the openings and seen what got left behind inside. A cabin with one obvious gap and light contamination goes fast; a roofline riddled with years of chinking wear and heavier nesting stretches on longer. That specific timeline gets spelled out when we write up the estimate.
Does rodent proofing in Medford Lakes qualify for any New Jersey incentive programs?
Rodent proofing itself is not typically what state incentive programs target, but the New Jersey Clean Energy Program has supported the attic insulation work that often follows an exclusion job, especially once contaminated material has to be replaced. It is worth asking PSE&G about current offers too, since utility programs shift over time.
Can rodent proofing work be done without touching the log cabin exterior?
Yes. The sealing happens from inside the attic and at the roofline itself, at soffits, fascia and trim gaps, not by altering the cedar log walls or chinking that gives Medford Lakes its look. A cabin can be fully excluded without changing anything visible from the trail out front.
What determines which gaps actually get sealed on a specific cabin?
The walk-through decides, not a standard checklist. Our crew checks the roofline, the trim, the chinking on older cabins and the crawl space vents for active or past entry points, then reviews what they found before recommending anything. No two Medford Lakes cabins carry the same gaps, so no two exclusion jobs look identical.
Should the existing insulation come out before an attic gets sealed?
If it already carries droppings, urine or nesting material, yes, it comes out and gets sanitized so closing the roofline does not just trap the problem inside. Clean insulation can often stay put while we seal around it. Which applies to your attic gets settled during the inspection, not assumed ahead of time.
Do you handle rodent proofing outside Medford Lakes itself?
Rodent proofing is not limited to the borough itself. Shamong, Tabernacle, Southampton and Evesham Township border Medford Township, which wraps completely around Medford Lakes, and all of it falls inside our regular Burlington County coverage, with Cherry Hill included farther west. Every one of those towns gets the same free inspection.
What happens if squirrels or mice get back in after an exclusion job?
A properly sealed roofline should hold, but a town surrounded by working Pinelands forest does not stop putting pressure on it. If activity returns at a different point on the same cabin, that is a separate opening, not a failure of the original seal, and we come back and find it.
