Master Attic did a phenomenal job with our attic insulation and duct replacement. We had a loss from smoke damage from a neighboring fire and we were met with compassion and excellent customer service from Danny Jones and Jorge Diaz. We chose them for their quality of work, expertise and fair pricing and they got the job done promptly. Thank you for the excellent work and we will be recommending you highly!

How We Clean Out a Crawl Space in Medford Lakes
The first visit for a Medford Lakes crawlspace and basement cleanup is almost always a discovery process: old insulation fragments, construction debris left behind from a past project, and under a handful of the borough's oldest cottages, whatever a previous owner tucked away down there and simply forgot. Every bit of it comes out before the crew moves on to the next step.
What we find changes what we recommend next. A crawl space with mostly dry debris is a straightforward haul-out. One with rodent droppings, a dead animal or mold growth calls for full sanitizing on top of the cleanup, and that combination turns up more often under the borough's oldest cottages, set low over ground that stays damp most of the year.
A written, no-cost estimate comes before anything gets cleared out, covering what has to be removed, whether sanitizing is needed, and whether the crawl space or basement is ready for new insulation or a vapor barrier once it is clean, or whether that is a separate job down the road. Every space gets its own read, never a generic checklist applied the same way to every house in town.

What We Clean Out of Medford Lakes Crawl Spaces
The four conditions that show up most in Medford Lakes crawl space and basement cleanups.
Some of the crawl spaces on the borough's oldest lots go a decade or longer without a single person actually crawling in to check on them. Whatever piles up in that stretch, insulation fragments, leftover scraps from an old repair, boxes someone slid in and forgot, has to come out before anyone can judge what the space really needs.
The Pinelands sand under Medford Lakes holds groundwater close to the surface, so a crawl space here that has gone uncleaned tends to show mold and dark staining sooner than a drier inland crawl space would. Sanitizing is often part of the cleanup rather than an optional add-on once we see that.
Dense canopy over the roofline and worn skirting gaps at ground level give animals two separate routes into a cottage, one at the crawl space and one at the attic, and rarely just the one. Droppings, nesting material and sometimes a dead animal are common finds during a first cleanup.
Debris underneath a cottage that never got a poured foundation comes out on a different clock than the same haul from a basement or a standard crawl space, given the shorter headroom and the shorter runs of continuous wall to work along. The cleanup gets planned around that layout going in, not figured out midway.

We just had our attic insulation replaced, and the entire experience was pleasant from start to finish. Robert is knowledgeable, honest and easy to work with at the initial estimate period. Roberta and his crew did a great job replacing the attic insulation for our house. They were very professional, efficient and respectful. They did everything that needed to be done and left the space clean and in excellent condition. I am very happy that I chose Master Attic and would highly recommend them.
Dan Jones and the Ronald crew did a great job from start to finish! I had original insulation in my attic with no electricity, not an easy job. Our upstairs was very hot in the summer and cold in winter. With having central air, we still needed AC units and space heaters to manage. Dan set up a great plan to eliminate that. He and his crew were able to come and finish the job shortly after we first met. They were quick, clean and managed to crawl into small spaces to remove old insulation and install fresh insulation. We have already noticed a major difference! Highly recommended!!
We hired Master Attic to clean out debris, mice, old insulation, and replace with new insulation in both our attic spaces. Roberto and his crew did a phenomenal job. They were extremely professional, polite, and did a fantastic job. They invited my husband to see the attic after each step, and took pictures on their phone to show me since I could not get up in the attic. They took the time to protect the space with plastic sheeting before the job up in the attic, and then cleaned up everything perfectly afterwards. I highly recommend them!
Great job by the team. Cleaned out the entire attic and replaced all the old insulation with new fresh insulation. Made a huge difference. Alex was great to work with and was very professional. Would highly recommend.
Awesome experience from start to finish. Rob provided a great assessment and capabilities overview, arrived on time and was very generous and thorough in explaining the work. I signed on the spot. A crew of six arrived (again, on time) and completely transformed our attic space - thoroughly cleaned out the old insulation (looked spotless afterwards), sanitized the space, sealed it/rodent proofed it, added baffles and of course, replaced the insulation and added more in areas that needed it. Completed the whole job in half a day and we are delighted with the result. Thank you, Master Attic team, for a job very well done! Highest recommendation.
What a great experience I had with this company and its employees. It started with initially interacting with Joe who came out for the estimate. He was funny because he came down from my attic and said "have you seen up there". I laughed because I had and I knew it was bad. He was no pressure and no nonsense. Gave me an estimate and said if I wanted we could have the work done next day. I wasn't ready for that but after some schedule juggling I told him we could be ready. Joe had his guys out next morning with the best part being Jorge calling me to advise he was about thirty minutes out. I appreciate when I am given a heads up as to ETA. Three of them arrived Jorge set out plastic and covered exposed furniture. Jorge, Angel and Gonzalo were all polite and worked hard to complete the task. They worked efficiently and were done quickly. Jorge made sure he included me in each step of the process and when I saw the finished product I was amazed. I can actually use my attic for storage if I choose to do so. I did not realize when they were here that they also do work on crawlspace areas. I will be calling them back to see what they can do for my crawlspace which easily rivals the diasaster called my attic. I recommend at least giving this company and its employees an opportunity to help you.
Great company to work with. From beginning to end, Dan came out, spent plenty of time with me going over everything that needed to be done, and the process of everything that needed to be updated it both attics. His professionalism was top notch, answered all my question and concerns. When it came time for George and his six-man crew to do the work their quality of workmanship was well above average, they were here the whole day, and I don't think they even had a lunch break (hopefully I don't get him in trouble). They all worked and everyone knew what their job was, they removed all the insulation, cleaned, spray foamed all holes and top plates, re-insulated both attics and cleaned up like they weren't even here. Will definitely use them again.
Master Attic remediated a bat issue for us back in October and I can’t say enough about what a wonderful job they did. The work was guaranteed and they encouraged us to call if we say any further evidence of bats. Well, there were a few droppings in the attic and they quickly responded to our concerns. Jose’s crew came out on a SUNDAY, inspected the attic, and sealed up several spots that could be entry points. They were professional, efficient, and kind. I would highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.
Crawlspace & Basement Cleanup in Medford Lakes: Questions We Get
What does a crawlspace and basement cleanup in Medford Lakes actually involve?
We clear out debris, old insulation fragments and anything left behind by rodents, then sanitize the space if droppings, mold or a dead animal are present. Under the colony's earliest cottages that usually means squeezing around a set of piers rather than a poured basement wall, which limits how much room the crew has to move.
What kind of schedule should a Medford Lakes homeowner plan around for this?
The volume of what has piled up, and how much room there is to move around it, drive the schedule more than anything else. A recently checked crawl space with light debris goes quickly; one shut up for years, or one needing sanitizing after wildlife, runs longer. A real number only gets put on it after our crew has seen the space firsthand.
Does a cleanup by itself qualify for any state energy incentives?
Rarely on its own, since New Jersey's Clean Energy Program targets energy upgrades rather than housekeeping, but the insulation or vapor barrier work that so often follows a cleanup has qualified before, and current offers are worth asking about. PSE&G, the utility across this part of Burlington County, also runs its own separate programs.
Is it worth the trouble to open up a space nobody has checked in ages?
Almost always, and ideally before any other work gets scheduled for that space. Undisturbed debris sitting for years tends to hide moisture damage, an old wildlife entry point, or insulation that has already given out, none of which shows up on its own until someone actually goes in and clears it.
How do you decide whether a space needs sanitizing on top of the cleanup?
Dry debris with no sign of animals is usually a straightforward clear-out and nothing more. Droppings, staining or a dead animal push it into sanitizing territory as well, and where mold has taken hold on damaged material, we pull that piece out instead of leaving it inside a space we have just cleaned, something that comes up more under Medford Lakes' pier-set cottages, sitting low over ground that stays damp most of the year.
Does insulation need to be removed as part of the cleanup?
If it is loose, sagging or clearly contaminated, yes, since leaving it in place would undo the point of cleaning everything else out. Insulation that is still intact and attached to the joists is a separate job. We sort that out during the inspection before deciding what comes with us.
Do you clean crawl spaces and basements outside Medford Lakes itself?
This is not a borough-only service. Between Medford Township, which surrounds the borough completely, and neighboring Shamong, Tabernacle, Southampton and Evesham Township, our regular Burlington County territory covers a lot of ground, with Cherry Hill reachable too. Wherever the crawl space or basement sits, the visit and the write-up work the same way.
Does everything the crew hauls out get thrown away?
Bagged and disposed of, whether that is old insulation, leftover construction debris or material contaminated by wildlife. None of it goes back into the crawl space or basement. Once the space sits empty, it is ready for whatever comes next, a vapor barrier, fresh insulation, or nothing further if the space genuinely does not need it.
