Master Attic did a phenomenal job with our attic insulation and duct replacement. We had a loss from smoke damage from a neighboring fire and we were met with compassion and excellent customer service from Danny Jones and Jorge Diaz. We chose them for their quality of work, expertise and fair pricing and they got the job done promptly. Thank you for the excellent work and we will be recommending you highly!

Two Different Raccoon Calls in Cliffside Park
An attic call and a crawl space call in Cliffside Park usually start from opposite ends of the house. Upstairs, the animal has almost always come down from a neighboring roof or a downspout and forced its way through a soffit or fascia gap, easier to do here than on a more spread-out lot. Underneath, the story is different: most of the borough was built with a full basement, not a crawl space, so a crawl space call is typically tied to a later addition off the back of the house or a porch built where the lot slopes, entered through a cracked vent or a gap in the skirting.
Either way, the response starts with confirming exactly where the animal is coming and going, then setting a one-way exclusion so it can leave and can't return, unless the situation calls for trapping instead, which we'll explain if it applies. A mother with young ones changes the pace of the job, since she won't be moved off her litter until they're ready to travel with her. Once nothing's left inside, the opening gets closed for good.
What's left afterward gets addressed right along with the exclusion where possible: torn insulation, chewed ductwork in an attic, a punctured vapor barrier below, and anywhere the animal denned gets sanitized. All of it lands on one written estimate, whether the call started upstairs, downstairs, or both.

Why Raccoons Turn Up Where They Do in Cliffside Park
The four situations that account for most raccoon calls across Cliffside Park.
Two-family houses sit shoulder to shoulder across much of the borough, close enough that a raccoon barely leaves one roof before it's on the next, and a gap worn open at the soffit or fascia trim of a 1920s or 1930s frame house is often the only thing standing between it and the attic.
Since most Cliffside Park houses were built over a full basement instead of a crawl space, the calls we do get tend to trace back to a rear addition or a sloped-lot porch, where vents and skirting age and loosen enough to give an animal room to squeeze underneath.
Even a short stay in a two-family attic is enough for a raccoon to flatten and soil the insulation around wherever it settled, which is usually the deciding factor in whether that material gets replaced instead of simply left alone.
A cramped attic hatch above a shared two-family roofline calls for different gear than a tight crawl space under a sloped-lot addition, so both get walked and measured before any exclusion work is priced, not guessed at from the driveway.

We just had our attic insulation replaced, and the entire experience was pleasant from start to finish. Robert is knowledgeable, honest and easy to work with at the initial estimate period. Roberta and his crew did a great job replacing the attic insulation for our house. They were very professional, efficient and respectful. They did everything that needed to be done and left the space clean and in excellent condition. I am very happy that I chose Master Attic and would highly recommend them.
Dan Jones and the Ronald crew did a great job from start to finish! I had original insulation in my attic with no electricity, not an easy job. Our upstairs was very hot in the summer and cold in winter. With having central air, we still needed AC units and space heaters to manage. Dan set up a great plan to eliminate that. He and his crew were able to come and finish the job shortly after we first met. They were quick, clean and managed to crawl into small spaces to remove old insulation and install fresh insulation. We have already noticed a major difference! Highly recommended!!
We hired Master Attic to clean out debris, mice, old insulation, and replace with new insulation in both our attic spaces. Roberto and his crew did a phenomenal job. They were extremely professional, polite, and did a fantastic job. They invited my husband to see the attic after each step, and took pictures on their phone to show me since I could not get up in the attic. They took the time to protect the space with plastic sheeting before the job up in the attic, and then cleaned up everything perfectly afterwards. I highly recommend them!
Great job by the team. Cleaned out the entire attic and replaced all the old insulation with new fresh insulation. Made a huge difference. Alex was great to work with and was very professional. Would highly recommend.
Awesome experience from start to finish. Rob provided a great assessment and capabilities overview, arrived on time and was very generous and thorough in explaining the work. I signed on the spot. A crew of six arrived (again, on time) and completely transformed our attic space - thoroughly cleaned out the old insulation (looked spotless afterwards), sanitized the space, sealed it/rodent proofed it, added baffles and of course, replaced the insulation and added more in areas that needed it. Completed the whole job in half a day and we are delighted with the result. Thank you, Master Attic team, for a job very well done! Highest recommendation.
What a great experience I had with this company and its employees. It started with initially interacting with Joe who came out for the estimate. He was funny because he came down from my attic and said "have you seen up there". I laughed because I had and I knew it was bad. He was no pressure and no nonsense. Gave me an estimate and said if I wanted we could have the work done next day. I wasn't ready for that but after some schedule juggling I told him we could be ready. Joe had his guys out next morning with the best part being Jorge calling me to advise he was about thirty minutes out. I appreciate when I am given a heads up as to ETA. Three of them arrived Jorge set out plastic and covered exposed furniture. Jorge, Angel and Gonzalo were all polite and worked hard to complete the task. They worked efficiently and were done quickly. Jorge made sure he included me in each step of the process and when I saw the finished product I was amazed. I can actually use my attic for storage if I choose to do so. I did not realize when they were here that they also do work on crawlspace areas. I will be calling them back to see what they can do for my crawlspace which easily rivals the diasaster called my attic. I recommend at least giving this company and its employees an opportunity to help you.
Great company to work with. From beginning to end, Dan came out, spent plenty of time with me going over everything that needed to be done, and the process of everything that needed to be updated it both attics. His professionalism was top notch, answered all my question and concerns. When it came time for George and his six-man crew to do the work their quality of workmanship was well above average, they were here the whole day, and I don't think they even had a lunch break (hopefully I don't get him in trouble). They all worked and everyone knew what their job was, they removed all the insulation, cleaned, spray foamed all holes and top plates, re-insulated both attics and cleaned up like they weren't even here. Will definitely use them again.
Master Attic remediated a bat issue for us back in October and I can’t say enough about what a wonderful job they did. The work was guaranteed and they encouraged us to call if we say any further evidence of bats. Well, there were a few droppings in the attic and they quickly responded to our concerns. Jose’s crew came out on a SUNDAY, inspected the attic, and sealed up several spots that could be entry points. They were professional, efficient, and kind. I would highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.
Raccoon Removal in Cliffside Park: Questions We Get
What's the actual process for getting a raccoon out of a Cliffside Park attic or crawl space?
First we pin down the exact opening, a roofline gap upstairs or a broken vent or skirting seam below, then set a one-way exclusion so the animal can leave on its own and can't get back in. If circumstances call for it instead, we'll use humane trapping. Once the space checks out empty, we seal the opening for good and deal with any damage left behind.
What's a realistic timeframe for a raccoon exclusion in Cliffside Park?
It hinges mostly on whether young raccoons are involved. A mother won't leave her litter behind, so we wait until they're mobile enough to go with her, which stretches things out. A single adult with no den to worry about moves along quickly by comparison. Either way, the schedule gets written into your estimate once we've assessed the situation.
Is insulation replaced after raccoon damage eligible for any NJ incentives?
It can be, on the same basis as any other insulation replacement. PSE&G serves Cliffside Park, and the NJ Clean Energy Program has supported similar work before, though what's actually funded shifts, so we'll check the current details when we're out for your estimate rather than promise something that may not still apply.
Once an entry point is sealed, is a repeat raccoon problem likely?
It's uncommon when the seal is done properly. An animal that found a way in once will try a spot that worked before, so the real fix is a permanently closed opening, not a one-way door left up indefinitely. Once we've verified nothing's left inside and the gap is sealed for good, that entry point is off the table.
How can I tell whether it's a raccoon in the attic or something below in the crawl space?
Attic activity is usually loud, heavy footsteps and scratching after dark, sometimes with visible roofline damage from outside. A crawl space problem tends to be quieter and shows up more as a bent vent cover or a gap pulled open in the skirting near a porch or addition, since most homes here have a basement rather than a true crawl space to begin with.
Once the raccoon's gone, do you handle the mess it left too?
We can, and usually do. Sealing an opening without dealing with torn insulation, damaged ductwork or a punctured crawl space barrier just leaves the underlying problem in place, so cleanup and sanitizing typically ride along with the exclusion itself, all covered on the same written estimate instead of a separate follow-up visit.
Which nearby towns do you cover for raccoon calls besides Cliffside Park?
We handle raccoon calls in Fort Lee, Ridgefield, Fairview and Edgewater without it being a special trip, and North Bergen isn't far once you're across into Hudson County, with Englewood a little further along the ridge. The roofline and crawl space setups we run into stay fairly consistent through that whole part of Bergen County, so the approach doesn't change much town to town.
Should I be worried about health risks from a raccoon in my Cliffside Park attic or crawl space?
It's worth taking seriously. Raccoons can carry parasites and disease, and a mother with young nearby can act defensively if she feels cornered, which is why we don't recommend handling it without help. Beyond the animal itself, whatever it leaves behind, soiled insulation or a torn barrier, can affect the air quality in the rooms nearest to it.
