Master Attic did a phenomenal job with our attic insulation and duct replacement. We had a loss from smoke damage from a neighboring fire and we were met with compassion and excellent customer service from Danny Jones and Jorge Diaz. We chose them for their quality of work, expertise and fair pricing and they got the job done promptly. Thank you for the excellent work and we will be recommending you highly!

What's Actually Up There in a Cliffside Park Attic
A Cliffside Park attic cleanup usually means dealing with two things stacked on top of each other: old insulation flattened under years of stored boxes, and the mess, droppings, torn nesting material and contamination a mouse or squirrel leaves once it gets into a shared roofline. In a two-family house with one open attic serving both units, sorting out whose stored items are whose comes before anything gets decided about the insulation itself.
The floor gets cleared first, boxes, loose debris and whatever's collected in the corners, with the path to the hatch protected so dust stays out of the rooms below while we work. What's left afterward tells us what the insulation needs: if it's just dusty, it usually stays, but anything soiled, matted flat or gnawed through comes out at that point rather than getting buried under new storage. A history of mice or squirrels in a Cliffside Park attic, more common where roof lines sit close together across the borough, means the whole space gets a family-safe sanitizing pass before we consider it finished.
Every cleanup begins with a free, written estimate laying out exactly what's up there, whether that's a quick pass through a smaller attic in a newer building near Palisade Avenue or a full clear-out of a two-family attic holding a couple of lifetimes' worth of storage. What the space actually needs decides the scope, not a set package.

What a Cliffside Park Cleanup Crew Usually Finds
Four situations that turn up again and again when we open a Cliffside Park attic.
Two-family attics built here between the 1920s and 1940s have often held decorations, furniture and old paperwork from both households for as long as the building's stood, with nobody checking what's actually happening to the floor underneath all of it.
Because attics connect so easily across Cliffside Park's tightly built two-family blocks, cleanup calls turn up nesting material, gnaw marks and droppings tucked into stored boxes more often than homeowners expect, which is part of why every cleanup includes a real look at what caused it.
A bathroom fan that dumps into the attic instead of venting outside, a setup we still find in a fair number of the borough's earlier two-family layouts, leaves stored cardboard soft and musty over time even with no roof leak in sight.
A wide, easy hatch over a newer multi-family attic clears out far quicker than the narrow, low opening typical of an older two-family roofline, which is exactly why we walk every space before quoting the work.

We just had our attic insulation replaced, and the entire experience was pleasant from start to finish. Robert is knowledgeable, honest and easy to work with at the initial estimate period. Roberta and his crew did a great job replacing the attic insulation for our house. They were very professional, efficient and respectful. They did everything that needed to be done and left the space clean and in excellent condition. I am very happy that I chose Master Attic and would highly recommend them.
Dan Jones and the Ronald crew did a great job from start to finish! I had original insulation in my attic with no electricity, not an easy job. Our upstairs was very hot in the summer and cold in winter. With having central air, we still needed AC units and space heaters to manage. Dan set up a great plan to eliminate that. He and his crew were able to come and finish the job shortly after we first met. They were quick, clean and managed to crawl into small spaces to remove old insulation and install fresh insulation. We have already noticed a major difference! Highly recommended!!
We hired Master Attic to clean out debris, mice, old insulation, and replace with new insulation in both our attic spaces. Roberto and his crew did a phenomenal job. They were extremely professional, polite, and did a fantastic job. They invited my husband to see the attic after each step, and took pictures on their phone to show me since I could not get up in the attic. They took the time to protect the space with plastic sheeting before the job up in the attic, and then cleaned up everything perfectly afterwards. I highly recommend them!
Great job by the team. Cleaned out the entire attic and replaced all the old insulation with new fresh insulation. Made a huge difference. Alex was great to work with and was very professional. Would highly recommend.
Awesome experience from start to finish. Rob provided a great assessment and capabilities overview, arrived on time and was very generous and thorough in explaining the work. I signed on the spot. A crew of six arrived (again, on time) and completely transformed our attic space - thoroughly cleaned out the old insulation (looked spotless afterwards), sanitized the space, sealed it/rodent proofed it, added baffles and of course, replaced the insulation and added more in areas that needed it. Completed the whole job in half a day and we are delighted with the result. Thank you, Master Attic team, for a job very well done! Highest recommendation.
What a great experience I had with this company and its employees. It started with initially interacting with Joe who came out for the estimate. He was funny because he came down from my attic and said "have you seen up there". I laughed because I had and I knew it was bad. He was no pressure and no nonsense. Gave me an estimate and said if I wanted we could have the work done next day. I wasn't ready for that but after some schedule juggling I told him we could be ready. Joe had his guys out next morning with the best part being Jorge calling me to advise he was about thirty minutes out. I appreciate when I am given a heads up as to ETA. Three of them arrived Jorge set out plastic and covered exposed furniture. Jorge, Angel and Gonzalo were all polite and worked hard to complete the task. They worked efficiently and were done quickly. Jorge made sure he included me in each step of the process and when I saw the finished product I was amazed. I can actually use my attic for storage if I choose to do so. I did not realize when they were here that they also do work on crawlspace areas. I will be calling them back to see what they can do for my crawlspace which easily rivals the diasaster called my attic. I recommend at least giving this company and its employees an opportunity to help you.
Great company to work with. From beginning to end, Dan came out, spent plenty of time with me going over everything that needed to be done, and the process of everything that needed to be updated it both attics. His professionalism was top notch, answered all my question and concerns. When it came time for George and his six-man crew to do the work their quality of workmanship was well above average, they were here the whole day, and I don't think they even had a lunch break (hopefully I don't get him in trouble). They all worked and everyone knew what their job was, they removed all the insulation, cleaned, spray foamed all holes and top plates, re-insulated both attics and cleaned up like they weren't even here. Will definitely use them again.
Master Attic remediated a bat issue for us back in October and I can’t say enough about what a wonderful job they did. The work was guaranteed and they encouraged us to call if we say any further evidence of bats. Well, there were a few droppings in the attic and they quickly responded to our concerns. Jose’s crew came out on a SUNDAY, inspected the attic, and sealed up several spots that could be entry points. They were professional, efficient, and kind. I would highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.
Attic Cleanup in Cliffside Park: Questions We Get
What's included in a standard Cliffside Park attic cleanup?
The floor gets cleared of boxes and loose debris while we keep the route down through the house protected from dust, then we check whatever insulation sits underneath and pull anything too soiled or damaged to stay. When mice or squirrels have clearly been through, a sanitizing pass wraps up the job, and every bit of it is on your written estimate beforehand.
About how long does a Cliffside Park attic cleanup take?
It comes down to how much has piled up, plus whether the insulation underneath also needs pulling. A light pass through a smaller attic near Palisade Avenue wraps quickly, while a two-family attic carrying decades of both households' belongings takes considerably longer to work through. Your actual timeframe lands in writing on the estimate rather than a guess given up front.
Does cleanup work in Cliffside Park qualify for any energy incentives?
Cleanup on its own typically doesn't qualify, though insulation or air sealing layered onto it sometimes does. PSE&G serves the borough, and program coverage moves around enough that the best answer comes from the estimator standing in your attic, not a page we could quote here.
My two-family house shares one attic. Can just my half get cleaned?
Only if a partition already separates the space. Quite a few two-family houses from the borough's earlier building years share one continuous attic with no wall splitting the roofline, so in that case the whole space gets addressed together at the estimate instead of pretending a boundary exists that isn't actually there.
How do you know if insulation should come out during a cleanup?
It comes down to condition. Insulation that's dusty but otherwise intact usually stays put. Once it's wet, matted flat or has droppings worked into it, a pattern we see fairly often across the borough's earlier two-family stock, it gets pulled rather than buried under something new.
Do you have to clean the attic before installing new insulation?
Usually, yes, if what's already up there is soiled or blocking gaps that need sealing first. New material needs a clean, sealed surface underneath it, so clearing out and pulling any bad insulation happens ahead of that, whether as one visit or two separate ones.
Do you clean out attics beyond Cliffside Park proper?
We do, running west into Fairview and up to Edgewater, north toward Fort Lee and Ridgefield, and out past the Hudson County border for North Bergen, with Englewood a bit further along the ridge. The mix of stored belongings, old insulation and the occasional wildlife mess looks about the same in two-family attics across that whole pocket of Bergen County.
Is long-term storage in a Cliffside Park attic actually a bad idea?
Not necessarily, as long as the space stays dry, well sealed and clear of rodent activity. That combination is harder to guarantee across the borough's tightly spaced two-family rooflines than on a more open lot, which is why boxes untouched since the house went up deserve a look before you pile on more.
