Master Attic did a phenomenal job with our attic insulation and duct replacement. We had a loss from smoke damage from a neighboring fire and we were met with compassion and excellent customer service from Danny Jones and Jorge Diaz. We chose them for their quality of work, expertise and fair pricing and they got the job done promptly. Thank you for the excellent work and we will be recommending you highly!

Attic Insulation Removal in Cliffside Park, New Jersey
Master Attic pulls wet, matted or rodent-contaminated insulation out of an attic across Cliffside Park, New Jersey under vacuum, then gets the floor ready for whatever goes back in, in two-family houses built during the borough's 1920s through 1940s construction years just as much as in the town's newest multi-family buildings. When a Cliffside Park Attic Needs Its Insulation Pulled
A few signals send us toward removal rather than a simple top-up in a Cliffside Park attic: a musty smell that wasn't there before, insulation that's gone flat and grey with age, or the telltale mess a mouse or squirrel leaves after getting into a shared roofline. A two-family attic built during the borough's 1920s through 1940s construction years and a newer multi-family attic near Palisade Avenue can both land here, just from different causes.
Removal itself is a contained job, not a free-for-all with a shop vac. We section off the attic hatch and the path down to it, then draw the old material out with commercial equipment built for the purpose, so debris never gets a chance to settle into the living space of a two-family house below. If mice or squirrels caused the problem, the emptied attic gets sanitized before we talk about anything going back in, and the seams we can now see, the top plates, the chases, the hatch, get closed while they're finally exposed.
You'll get one written number covering the removal and whatever comes next, whether that's fresh insulation installed right afterward or a return trip once you've decided on material. A tightly framed two-family attic with a single narrow hatch takes a different amount of work than an open attic in a newer building, and the walk-through is where that difference shows up, not in a phone estimate.
What Comes With an Attic Insulation Removal in Cliffside Park
Six things that typically come up around a Cliffside Park removal job, based on what the free inspection finds.
Signs a Cliffside Park Attic Is Due for Removal
The four conditions that most often send old material out of a Cliffside Park attic.
A batt installed when a two-family house went up somewhere between the 1920s and 1940s has usually compressed to a fraction of its original loft by now, regardless of how many renovations the living space downstairs has been through.
Ice damming at a flat porch roof edge, a slipped flashing seam, or a duct sweating in summer humidity each work insulation wet from above, and once that happens the material quits insulating and starts holding moisture against the deck instead.
A mouse traveling a party wall or a squirrel coming down off a roofline tree finds loose insulation an easy place to burrow, and once that's happened in Cliffside Park's tightly packed housing, the material comes out rather than getting layered over.
A two-family attic with one low, narrow hatch takes a crew far longer to work through than an open attic in a newer multi-family building, which is exactly why access gets checked closely before a removal job is ever priced.

We just had our attic insulation replaced, and the entire experience was pleasant from start to finish. Robert is knowledgeable, honest and easy to work with at the initial estimate period. Roberta and his crew did a great job replacing the attic insulation for our house. They were very professional, efficient and respectful. They did everything that needed to be done and left the space clean and in excellent condition. I am very happy that I chose Master Attic and would highly recommend them.
Dan Jones and the Ronald crew did a great job from start to finish! I had original insulation in my attic with no electricity, not an easy job. Our upstairs was very hot in the summer and cold in winter. With having central air, we still needed AC units and space heaters to manage. Dan set up a great plan to eliminate that. He and his crew were able to come and finish the job shortly after we first met. They were quick, clean and managed to crawl into small spaces to remove old insulation and install fresh insulation. We have already noticed a major difference! Highly recommended!!
We hired Master Attic to clean out debris, mice, old insulation, and replace with new insulation in both our attic spaces. Roberto and his crew did a phenomenal job. They were extremely professional, polite, and did a fantastic job. They invited my husband to see the attic after each step, and took pictures on their phone to show me since I could not get up in the attic. They took the time to protect the space with plastic sheeting before the job up in the attic, and then cleaned up everything perfectly afterwards. I highly recommend them!
Great job by the team. Cleaned out the entire attic and replaced all the old insulation with new fresh insulation. Made a huge difference. Alex was great to work with and was very professional. Would highly recommend.
Awesome experience from start to finish. Rob provided a great assessment and capabilities overview, arrived on time and was very generous and thorough in explaining the work. I signed on the spot. A crew of six arrived (again, on time) and completely transformed our attic space - thoroughly cleaned out the old insulation (looked spotless afterwards), sanitized the space, sealed it/rodent proofed it, added baffles and of course, replaced the insulation and added more in areas that needed it. Completed the whole job in half a day and we are delighted with the result. Thank you, Master Attic team, for a job very well done! Highest recommendation.
What a great experience I had with this company and its employees. It started with initially interacting with Joe who came out for the estimate. He was funny because he came down from my attic and said "have you seen up there". I laughed because I had and I knew it was bad. He was no pressure and no nonsense. Gave me an estimate and said if I wanted we could have the work done next day. I wasn't ready for that but after some schedule juggling I told him we could be ready. Joe had his guys out next morning with the best part being Jorge calling me to advise he was about thirty minutes out. I appreciate when I am given a heads up as to ETA. Three of them arrived Jorge set out plastic and covered exposed furniture. Jorge, Angel and Gonzalo were all polite and worked hard to complete the task. They worked efficiently and were done quickly. Jorge made sure he included me in each step of the process and when I saw the finished product I was amazed. I can actually use my attic for storage if I choose to do so. I did not realize when they were here that they also do work on crawlspace areas. I will be calling them back to see what they can do for my crawlspace which easily rivals the diasaster called my attic. I recommend at least giving this company and its employees an opportunity to help you.
Great company to work with. From beginning to end, Dan came out, spent plenty of time with me going over everything that needed to be done, and the process of everything that needed to be updated it both attics. His professionalism was top notch, answered all my question and concerns. When it came time for George and his six-man crew to do the work their quality of workmanship was well above average, they were here the whole day, and I don't think they even had a lunch break (hopefully I don't get him in trouble). They all worked and everyone knew what their job was, they removed all the insulation, cleaned, spray foamed all holes and top plates, re-insulated both attics and cleaned up like they weren't even here. Will definitely use them again.
Master Attic remediated a bat issue for us back in October and I can’t say enough about what a wonderful job they did. The work was guaranteed and they encouraged us to call if we say any further evidence of bats. Well, there were a few droppings in the attic and they quickly responded to our concerns. Jose’s crew came out on a SUNDAY, inspected the attic, and sealed up several spots that could be entry points. They were professional, efficient, and kind. I would highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.
Attic Insulation Removal in Cliffside Park: Questions We Get
What actually happens during an attic insulation removal visit in Cliffside Park?
The attic gets sectioned off from the living space first, then commercial vacuum equipment pulls the old material out instead of a crew doing it by hand, keeping debris from drifting into a two-family house below. Any sign of rodents means a sanitizing pass follows, and we check the newly bare floor for air leaks before talking about what goes back in.
How long should I expect a removal job in a Cliffside Park attic to take?
It comes down to volume and access. A compact attic in a newer building clears out quickly, while a full two-family attic that's held the same material since the 1940s, especially one with rodent cleanup on top, runs longer. That specific timeframe gets written into your estimate rather than estimated over the phone.
Does insulation removal in Cliffside Park qualify for any utility rebates?
Removal by itself usually isn't rebate territory, but the fresh insulation that follows it sometimes is. PSE&G serves Cliffside Park, and utility or state programs have picked up part of similar jobs before. Since what's on offer moves around, we look into it fresh whenever we're at your attic for the estimate.
Is leaving old insulation in place ever the safer choice?
If it's dry, clean and just thinner than current guidance recommends, yes, adding on top is a legitimate option. That stops being true once moisture, mold or rodent droppings get mixed in, since that combination has a way of reaching the living space downstairs through the hatch or a small gap in the ceiling.
How do you tell a Cliffside Park attic needs full removal instead of a simple top-up?
Condition tells the story: dry, clean insulation that's simply thinner than today's guidance can often just be added to. Once it's damp, matted flat or has droppings mixed in, a pattern that shows up more in the borough's earlier two-family construction than in anything newer, topping it off stops being an option.
Does new insulation always go in immediately once the old material is pulled?
Only if you want us to. Once the floor is clean and sealed, blown-in or batt insulation can go in as the next step of the same job, or you can hold off and schedule that separately. Either way is written into the estimate, so the choice is yours going in.
Do you take on removal jobs beyond Cliffside Park's own borders?
North to Fort Lee and Ridgefield, west and south into Fairview and Edgewater, over the Hudson County line for North Bergen, and out to Englewood along the ridge, removal crews cover all of it regularly. The two-family housing stock stays consistent enough across that stretch that the same equipment and approach work everywhere.
Where does the removed insulation actually go afterward?
It's bagged on site and hauled off for disposal under local regulations, not stacked in the driveway or left at the curb. Before the crew leaves, the attic itself gets a final check, clean and ready for whatever comes next, sanitizing, sealing or new material, depending on what your particular two-family attic needed.
