Master Attic did a phenomenal job with our attic insulation and duct replacement. We had a loss from smoke damage from a neighboring fire and we were met with compassion and excellent customer service from Danny Jones and Jorge Diaz. We chose them for their quality of work, expertise and fair pricing and they got the job done promptly. Thank you for the excellent work and we will be recommending you highly!

New Insulation for a Cliffside Park Crawl Space
Cliffside Park's housing stock is mostly full basements, so when new crawl space insulation comes up, it is almost always for one specific part of the property: a rear addition, an enclosed porch, or a section stepped down onto lower ground along the Palisades. That later construction did not always get the same floor treatment as the original house, which is why one room can feel noticeably colder than the rest even after the rest of the house has been updated.
We start underneath, checking the framing for damage and confirming whether anything already installed has to be cleared before new material goes in. From there, batts get fit snugly against every joist along the run, with particular attention to the rim joist, the band where an addition meets the original structure and one of the places outside air slips through most easily on an older Cliffside Park build.
New insulation warms the floor above, but it does not do anything about ground moisture, and Bergen County's clay soil holds water long enough that a crawl space set low against a sloped Palisades lot sometimes needs a sealed vapor barrier as well. We flag that during the walk-through rather than assuming, and every recommendation lands on one free, written estimate.

Where Cliffside Park Crawl Spaces Go Without Insulation
The four situations that come up most when we quote new crawl space insulation in Cliffside Park.
Whoever built the addition or enclosed the porch often treated the crawl space underneath as an afterthought, framing it and closing it up without giving the floor the same insulation package the rest of the house received, which leaves that one room permanently a step behind.
Where a Cliffside Park property steps down toward the back along the Palisades, the crawl space built on that lower ground sits closer to the water table than anything else on the lot, which means insulation alone rarely solves the problem for long without something addressing the moisture underneath it too.
Bergen County's clay drains slowly enough that batts installed by themselves in a low crawl space tend to pick up moisture again within a season or two, particularly where the addition sits at the bottom of a sloped lot rather than level ground.
An open, unheated crawl space under an older Cliffside Park addition rarely stays empty on its own, and a mouse will claim loose insulation there long before anyone upstairs notices. Clearing out whatever it nested in and checking the entry points comes before we install anything new.

We just had our attic insulation replaced, and the entire experience was pleasant from start to finish. Robert is knowledgeable, honest and easy to work with at the initial estimate period. Roberta and his crew did a great job replacing the attic insulation for our house. They were very professional, efficient and respectful. They did everything that needed to be done and left the space clean and in excellent condition. I am very happy that I chose Master Attic and would highly recommend them.
Dan Jones and the Ronald crew did a great job from start to finish! I had original insulation in my attic with no electricity, not an easy job. Our upstairs was very hot in the summer and cold in winter. With having central air, we still needed AC units and space heaters to manage. Dan set up a great plan to eliminate that. He and his crew were able to come and finish the job shortly after we first met. They were quick, clean and managed to crawl into small spaces to remove old insulation and install fresh insulation. We have already noticed a major difference! Highly recommended!!
We hired Master Attic to clean out debris, mice, old insulation, and replace with new insulation in both our attic spaces. Roberto and his crew did a phenomenal job. They were extremely professional, polite, and did a fantastic job. They invited my husband to see the attic after each step, and took pictures on their phone to show me since I could not get up in the attic. They took the time to protect the space with plastic sheeting before the job up in the attic, and then cleaned up everything perfectly afterwards. I highly recommend them!
Great job by the team. Cleaned out the entire attic and replaced all the old insulation with new fresh insulation. Made a huge difference. Alex was great to work with and was very professional. Would highly recommend.
Awesome experience from start to finish. Rob provided a great assessment and capabilities overview, arrived on time and was very generous and thorough in explaining the work. I signed on the spot. A crew of six arrived (again, on time) and completely transformed our attic space - thoroughly cleaned out the old insulation (looked spotless afterwards), sanitized the space, sealed it/rodent proofed it, added baffles and of course, replaced the insulation and added more in areas that needed it. Completed the whole job in half a day and we are delighted with the result. Thank you, Master Attic team, for a job very well done! Highest recommendation.
What a great experience I had with this company and its employees. It started with initially interacting with Joe who came out for the estimate. He was funny because he came down from my attic and said "have you seen up there". I laughed because I had and I knew it was bad. He was no pressure and no nonsense. Gave me an estimate and said if I wanted we could have the work done next day. I wasn't ready for that but after some schedule juggling I told him we could be ready. Joe had his guys out next morning with the best part being Jorge calling me to advise he was about thirty minutes out. I appreciate when I am given a heads up as to ETA. Three of them arrived Jorge set out plastic and covered exposed furniture. Jorge, Angel and Gonzalo were all polite and worked hard to complete the task. They worked efficiently and were done quickly. Jorge made sure he included me in each step of the process and when I saw the finished product I was amazed. I can actually use my attic for storage if I choose to do so. I did not realize when they were here that they also do work on crawlspace areas. I will be calling them back to see what they can do for my crawlspace which easily rivals the diasaster called my attic. I recommend at least giving this company and its employees an opportunity to help you.
Great company to work with. From beginning to end, Dan came out, spent plenty of time with me going over everything that needed to be done, and the process of everything that needed to be updated it both attics. His professionalism was top notch, answered all my question and concerns. When it came time for George and his six-man crew to do the work their quality of workmanship was well above average, they were here the whole day, and I don't think they even had a lunch break (hopefully I don't get him in trouble). They all worked and everyone knew what their job was, they removed all the insulation, cleaned, spray foamed all holes and top plates, re-insulated both attics and cleaned up like they weren't even here. Will definitely use them again.
Master Attic remediated a bat issue for us back in October and I can’t say enough about what a wonderful job they did. The work was guaranteed and they encouraged us to call if we say any further evidence of bats. Well, there were a few droppings in the attic and they quickly responded to our concerns. Jose’s crew came out on a SUNDAY, inspected the attic, and sealed up several spots that could be entry points. They were professional, efficient, and kind. I would highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.
New Crawlspace Insulation in Cliffside Park: Questions We Get
Which part of a Cliffside Park property is this service actually for?
Nearly every job traces back to a later addition, the kind built after the original two-family house went up with a basement underneath it, where the newer construction on lower ground ended up with a crawl space instead. If it is not obvious which part of your property has one, that is exactly what the free inspection is for.
How long should I expect a new insulation install to take?
That depends on the footprint and whether anything has to come out first. A clear, already-empty addition crawl space goes quickly, while one needing removal or awkward access takes more time to work through carefully. We set the real schedule once we have been underneath, and it becomes part of the written estimate.
Are there PSE&G or state incentives for this kind of work?
PSE&G covers Cliffside Park, and the state's Clean Energy Program does sometimes extend to crawl space insulation projects, though what actually qualifies depends on the specifics of a given job and what happens to be open that particular month. We stay current on what applies and will walk through it with you during the estimate.
Will new insulation make a real difference in an addition that always feels cold?
Most of the time, yes, and noticeably so. A crawl space that never got proper insulation leaves cold air pooling just under the floor above it, and once the joist bays are filled correctly, that floor is typically the first place a household feels the change.
How do you know whether an addition just needs insulation or also a vapor barrier?
Moisture history is the deciding factor. A crawl space that has stayed dry usually only needs new batts, while one built lower on a Palisades-facing slope, where the clay ground underneath rarely finishes draining before the next rain, is more likely to need a sealed barrier added at the same time so the new insulation actually lasts.
Is removing old insulation always necessary before installing new material?
Only when the old material is actually compromised, whether that means wet, sagging or clearly nested in by something small. Dry insulation that has not been touched can often be left in place, with new batts simply fitted in around it, though that outcome shows up less often in Cliffside Park's older addition crawl spaces than a homeowner might expect going in.
What other towns does this crawl space insulation service reach?
Fairview, Edgewater, Fort Lee and Ridgefield sit within our regular Bergen County route around Cliffside Park, and coverage extends into Hudson County for North Bergen and further up the ridge to Englewood. Additions built on sloped ground are common throughout this whole area, not unique to Cliffside Park.
My crawl space already has a liner down. Does new insulation mess with that?
Not if that liner is still doing its job. When the barrier is intact and the ground under it is dry, we fit new batts above it and leave the liner exactly as it is. Only when the inspection finds the existing barrier failed or letting moisture through does replacing it become part of the plan.
