A Bensalem attic tells us what it needs before we quote anything. In Cornwells Heights and Eddington, the ranches and Capes usually hold whatever batts went in during the 1950s and 60s, thinner than today's standard by a wide margin. Toward Trevose and Andalusia, the split-levels, twins and townhouses built through the 1970s got a somewhat newer layer that rarely runs much deeper either. Either way, the inspection measures what's actually up there, finds where warm air is escaping into the attic, and turns that into a written recommendation for closing the gap.
Sealing happens first. The top plates, the flue and plumbing chases, the attic hatch and any recessed lights get closed off, and channels are set into the rafter bays to keep each soffit breathing once the new depth is down. Material that's gone damp, matted or been nested in by squirrels, raccoons or mice, not uncommon along Bensalem's older rooflines, comes out under vacuum first, and the attic gets sanitized before new insulation, blown-in fill or batts, goes back over a clean floor.

Dan Jones and the Ronald crew did a great job from start to finish! I had original insulation in my attic with no electricity, not an easy job. Our upstairs was very hot in the summer and cold in winter. With having central air, we still needed AC units and space heaters to manage. Dan set up a great plan to eliminate that. He and his crew were able to come and finish the job shortly after we first met. They were quick, clean and managed to crawl into small spaces to remove old insulation and install fresh insulation. We have already noticed a major difference! Highly recommended!!
We hired Master Attic to clean out debris, mice, old insulation, and replace with new insulation in both our attic spaces. Roberto and his crew did a phenomenal job. They were extremely professional, polite, and did a fantastic job. They invited my husband to see the attic after each step, and took pictures on their phone to show me since I could not get up in the attic. Awesome experience from start to finish. Rob provided a great assessment and capabilities overview, arrived on time and was very generous and thorough in explaining the work. I signed on the spot. A crew of six arrived (again, on time) and completely transformed our attic space - thoroughly cleaned out the old insulation (looked spotless afterwards), sanitized the space, sealed it/rodent proofed it, added baffles and of course, replaced the insulation and added more in areas that needed it. What a great experience I had with this company and its employees. It started with initially interacting with Joe who came out for the estimate. He was funny because he came down from my attic and said "have you seen up there". I laughed because I had and I knew it was bad. He was no pressure and no nonsense. Gave me an estimate and said if I wanted we could have the work done next day. I wasn't ready for that but after some schedule juggling I told him we could be ready. Joe had his guys out next morning with the best part being Jorge calling me to advise he was about thirty minutes out. I appreciate when I am given a heads up as to ETA. Three of them arrived Jorge set out plastic and covered exposed furniture. Jorge, Angel and Gonzalo were all polite and worked hard to complete the task. They worked efficiently and were done quickly. Jorge made sure he included me in each step of the process and when I saw the finished product I was amazed. I can actually use my attic for storage if I choose to do so. I did not realize when they were here that they also do work on crawlspace areas. I will be calling them back to see what they can do for my crawlspace which easily rivals the diasaster called my attic. I recommend at least giving this company and its employees an opportunity to help you.
Great company to work with. From beginning to end, Dan came out, spent plenty of time with me going over everything that needed to be done, and the process of everything that needed to be updated it both attics. His professionalism was top notch, answered all my question and concerns. When it came time for George and his six-man crew to do the work their quality of workmanship was well above average, they were here the whole day, and I don't think they even had a lunch break (hopefully I don't get him in trouble). They all worked and everyone knew what their job was, they removed all the insulation, cleaned, spray foamed all holes and top plates, re-insulated both attics and cleaned up like they weren't even here. Will definitely use them again.

The inspection measures what's already in the attic, checks where air is leaking out of the living space, and sets a plan for sealing before any material goes down. Blown-in fill, batts, or a mix of both go over the sealed floor depending on the attic's shape, and old material only comes out first if it's damaged or contaminated. All of it lands on a free written estimate.
Every attic sets its own pace. A single-story rancher moves along quickly, a split-level with tighter crawl access runs longer, and a shared townhouse or apartment attic that needs scheduling across units takes longer still. Wildlife cleanup on top of the insulation work adds to that further. Rather than guess on the phone, we put a real figure in the written estimate once we've actually seen the attic.
For most Bensalem houses, yes, noticeably. PECO meters the electric side of the equation, and a thin, leaky attic floor forces a heat pump or central air unit to run far more than its rated cycle just to hold a set temperature. Once the leaks are closed and the depth matches current guidance, that extra runtime drops off, and the difference tends to show up within a billing cycle or two.
Both, and it comes up often here. Bensalem has more apartment and townhouse construction than a lot of towns nearby, and one attic or roofline commonly runs over several units at once. That changes the planning, so we walk the specific building, quote what its shared spaces actually need, and schedule around however many units are involved.
Shape and access settle it more than personal preference does. An Eddington ranch attic with an open floor takes blown-in fill fastest, since it fills odd corners without extra cutting. A Trevose split-level or townhouse with knee walls and sloped ceilings usually calls for batts instead, cut to fit where a machine hose can't hold loose material in place. A good number of Bensalem attics get a combination of the two.
Not necessarily. Dry, uncontaminated batts can often be topped with fresh blown-in fill and left exactly where they are. Pulling becomes the right call once wetness sets in, once a squirrel, raccoon or mouse has made a home in the material, or once the layer underneath is covering top plates and duct chases that still need to be closed off, a combination that shows up often in Bensalem's older stock.
Bucks County end to end. Feasterville-Trevose, Langhorne, Bristol Township and Croydon all fall on the regular route, and Yardley marks the northern edge of what we cover in Pennsylvania. Bensalem also runs straight into Northeast Philadelphia, and jobs on that side of the line get scheduled no differently than ones a few blocks over in Eddington.
Yes. Even a townhouse or twin finished within the last few decades can land short of current guidance, since builders leave the same weak points behind a recessed light, a duct run through the attic floor, or an unweatherstripped hatch, no matter what decade the framing went up in. Nothing short of getting up there and looking tells you where a given attic actually falls.
