Master Attic did a phenomenal job with our attic insulation and duct replacement. We had a loss from smoke damage from a neighboring fire and we were met with compassion and excellent customer service from Danny Jones and Jorge Diaz. We chose them for their quality of work, expertise and fair pricing and they got the job done promptly. Thank you for the excellent work and we will be recommending you highly!

Raccoon Removal in Princeton Junction Attics and Crawl Spaces
An attic raccoon and a crawl space raccoon get into a Princeton Junction house through completely different routes. Above, a raccoon climbs from the tree canopy near Berrien City or Grovers Mill and works open a soffit gap or a weak spot along the roofline. Below, it noses through a broken foundation vent, pries a loose access door, or finds a gap in the skirting under a raised ranch.
Once the active opening is confirmed, the raccoon comes out through humane means: usually a one-way door fixed over the opening so it can leave under its own power but not climb back through, with humane trapping reserved for entry points that do not lend themselves to a one-way door. If young are denned up with the mother, the approach changes and the timing is worked around them before anything gets closed off.
With the raccoon gone, the opening itself gets sealed for good, whether that means closing a soffit gap above or a vent and skirting gap below, and whatever it nested in or soiled, attic insulation or crawl space material, is cleared out and sanitized. A house needing both the attic and the crawl space handled gets both priced on one estimate.

What We Find After a Raccoon in Princeton Junction
The four conditions that most often follow a raccoon in an attic or crawl space here.
A mature tree standing near the roofline in older streets around Berrien City puts a raccoon within an easy climb of a weak fascia board or a soffit corner that has come loose, and once that gives way, the opening is usually large enough for it to pass through without much trouble.
Windsor Hunt and Princeton Ivy East have more of the raised ranches and split-levels where a raccoon skips the roof entirely and works low instead, prying at a vent screen, a latch that has given out on the crawl access, or a torn stretch of skirting. Same animal, but a completely different repair.
An attic raccoon flattens, soils and sometimes tears up insulation while nesting, and a crawl space raccoon does the same to whatever vapor barrier or insulation is already down there. Either way, the damaged material usually has to come out and be replaced once the animal is gone.
A raccoon that has denned up with young needs a different approach than a single adult passing through, since sealing an opening too early can trap or separate a litter. Confirming whether young are present is one of the first things the inspection settles before any removal plan gets set.

We just had our attic insulation replaced, and the entire experience was pleasant from start to finish. Robert is knowledgeable, honest and easy to work with at the initial estimate period. Roberta and his crew did a great job replacing the attic insulation for our house. They were very professional, efficient and respectful. They did everything that needed to be done and left the space clean and in excellent condition. I am very happy that I chose Master Attic and would highly recommend them.
Dan Jones and the Ronald crew did a great job from start to finish! I had original insulation in my attic with no electricity, not an easy job. Our upstairs was very hot in the summer and cold in winter. With having central air, we still needed AC units and space heaters to manage. Dan set up a great plan to eliminate that. He and his crew were able to come and finish the job shortly after we first met. They were quick, clean and managed to crawl into small spaces to remove old insulation and install fresh insulation. We have already noticed a major difference! Highly recommended!!
We hired Master Attic to clean out debris, mice, old insulation, and replace with new insulation in both our attic spaces. Roberto and his crew did a phenomenal job. They were extremely professional, polite, and did a fantastic job. They invited my husband to see the attic after each step, and took pictures on their phone to show me since I could not get up in the attic. They took the time to protect the space with plastic sheeting before the job up in the attic, and then cleaned up everything perfectly afterwards. I highly recommend them!
Great job by the team. Cleaned out the entire attic and replaced all the old insulation with new fresh insulation. Made a huge difference. Alex was great to work with and was very professional. Would highly recommend.
Awesome experience from start to finish. Rob provided a great assessment and capabilities overview, arrived on time and was very generous and thorough in explaining the work. I signed on the spot. A crew of six arrived (again, on time) and completely transformed our attic space - thoroughly cleaned out the old insulation (looked spotless afterwards), sanitized the space, sealed it/rodent proofed it, added baffles and of course, replaced the insulation and added more in areas that needed it. Completed the whole job in half a day and we are delighted with the result. Thank you, Master Attic team, for a job very well done! Highest recommendation.
What a great experience I had with this company and its employees. It started with initially interacting with Joe who came out for the estimate. He was funny because he came down from my attic and said "have you seen up there". I laughed because I had and I knew it was bad. He was no pressure and no nonsense. Gave me an estimate and said if I wanted we could have the work done next day. I wasn't ready for that but after some schedule juggling I told him we could be ready. Joe had his guys out next morning with the best part being Jorge calling me to advise he was about thirty minutes out. I appreciate when I am given a heads up as to ETA. Three of them arrived Jorge set out plastic and covered exposed furniture. Jorge, Angel and Gonzalo were all polite and worked hard to complete the task. They worked efficiently and were done quickly. Jorge made sure he included me in each step of the process and when I saw the finished product I was amazed. I can actually use my attic for storage if I choose to do so. I did not realize when they were here that they also do work on crawlspace areas. I will be calling them back to see what they can do for my crawlspace which easily rivals the diasaster called my attic. I recommend at least giving this company and its employees an opportunity to help you.
Great company to work with. From beginning to end, Dan came out, spent plenty of time with me going over everything that needed to be done, and the process of everything that needed to be updated it both attics. His professionalism was top notch, answered all my question and concerns. When it came time for George and his six-man crew to do the work their quality of workmanship was well above average, they were here the whole day, and I don't think they even had a lunch break (hopefully I don't get him in trouble). They all worked and everyone knew what their job was, they removed all the insulation, cleaned, spray foamed all holes and top plates, re-insulated both attics and cleaned up like they weren't even here. Will definitely use them again.
Master Attic remediated a bat issue for us back in October and I can’t say enough about what a wonderful job they did. The work was guaranteed and they encouraged us to call if we say any further evidence of bats. Well, there were a few droppings in the attic and they quickly responded to our concerns. Jose’s crew came out on a SUNDAY, inspected the attic, and sealed up several spots that could be entry points. They were professional, efficient, and kind. I would highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.
Raccoon Removal in Princeton Junction: Questions We Get
How do I know if a raccoon is in my attic or in my crawl space?
Heavy thumping or rolling sounds overhead, especially around dusk and dawn, usually point to the attic, while scratching or movement felt through the floor points to a crawl space. Droppings, a strong odor and flattened or torn insulation show up in either location. We check both areas during the inspection since it is not always obvious from inside the house which one is affected.
What affects how long a raccoon job takes to resolve?
Whether it is a single adult using one obvious opening, which tends to resolve fairly fast, or a mother with young or an animal splitting time between more than one entry point, which naturally takes longer to handle safely. Your written estimate lays out the expected timing once we know which situation applies.
Are there incentives that apply after raccoon damage requires new insulation?
West Windsor sits in PSE&G territory, and statewide or utility efficiency offerings have applied to insulation replacement after wildlife damage before. Exact availability shifts, so we will flag what looks relevant once we know how much material actually needs replacing.
Is a raccoon under a raised ranch using the same kind of opening as one in an attic?
No, the mechanics are different. Below the house, it is a cracked vent, a failed crawl door latch or torn skirting; above, it is a soffit gap or fascia board reached by climbing. Windsor Hunt and Princeton Ivy East have more of the raised ranches and split-levels where the below-house version shows up.
What method do you use to actually get a raccoon out?
The default is a device mounted right over the opening that swings out to let the raccoon leave but will not swing back in, and quiet activity around it tells us the space has cleared out. When the opening or the circumstances rule that approach out, humane trapping steps in instead, with the opening closed once the animal is confirmed gone.
Is closing the opening included, or is that billed separately?
It is included. Confirming the raccoon is out and then closing the soffit, vent or skirting gap it was using happens as one job, not two separately billed visits, so nothing is left open for a second raccoon or a squirrel to find later. The written estimate covers both stages together from the start.
Do you handle raccoon calls outside Princeton Junction proper?
We are just as quick to reach Hightstown, East Windsor and Cranbury as we are Princeton Junction itself, and Plainsboro and Princeton sit close on the opposite side of town. Raccoon calls come out of all of them on a normal basis, alongside the rest of Mercer County.
What stops a new raccoon from moving in after one is removed?
The specific opening it used gets closed for good, but a house with heavy tree cover at the roofline or an aging vent elsewhere can still draw a different raccoon later if nothing else nearby gets addressed. A full look at the roofline and foundation, not just the one active opening, is part of finishing the job.
