Master Attic did a phenomenal job with our attic insulation and duct replacement. We had a loss from smoke damage from a neighboring fire and we were met with compassion and excellent customer service from Danny Jones and Jorge Diaz. We chose them for their quality of work, expertise and fair pricing and they got the job done promptly. Thank you for the excellent work and we will be recommending you highly!

Installing New Crawlspace Insulation in Princeton Junction
New crawlspace insulation in Princeton Junction means fitting fresh material under the floor joists themselves, the boards a raised ranch or split-level in Windsor Hunt actually stands on, rather than the ground below like an encapsulation job does. It goes in on houses that never had adequate insulation there to begin with and on newer townhomes near the station where the original installation has settled or fallen loose over the years.
Before new material goes up, the rim joist and any gaps around plumbing or ductwork running through the crawl space get sealed, since insulation alone does nothing to stop air moving through an open joint. The insulation itself then gets tucked firmly between the joists and secured so it cannot sag or drop the way older installations often do.
How much of a crawl space needs new insulation, and whether a vapor barrier or crawl space cleanup should happen on the same trip, depends entirely on what the inspection finds underneath a given house, from a modest ranch near Grovers Mill to a two-story colonial with a partial crawl space tucked beside the basement stairs. Nothing about the estimate costs money, and every piece of the recommendation is written down before any material goes in.

What We Find Under Princeton Junction Crawl Spaces
The four conditions we see most often before installing new crawlspace insulation here.
Insulation held up by wire supports or staples loses its grip after enough years of humidity cycling through a vented crawl space, and once a section falls it stops doing anything for the floor above it. Replacing it means refitting the whole run snugly, not just tacking the fallen piece back up.
Some of the townhomes near the station that went up within the past ten years were insulated to a builder-grade minimum rather than what current guidance recommends for a Princeton Junction crawl space, so a newer build showing a cold floor in winter is not unusual.
A crawl space can have full insulation between the floor joists and still lose most of its value if the rim joist at the top of the foundation wall was never sealed, since that is where outside air and humidity actually get in.
Once insulation sags or drops away from the joists, it becomes soft, hidden bedding that a mouse or squirrel will readily den in, and material that has been used that way gets removed rather than reinstalled, with the new insulation going in over a sealed, cleared space.

We just had our attic insulation replaced, and the entire experience was pleasant from start to finish. Robert is knowledgeable, honest and easy to work with at the initial estimate period. Roberta and his crew did a great job replacing the attic insulation for our house. They were very professional, efficient and respectful. They did everything that needed to be done and left the space clean and in excellent condition. I am very happy that I chose Master Attic and would highly recommend them.
Dan Jones and the Ronald crew did a great job from start to finish! I had original insulation in my attic with no electricity, not an easy job. Our upstairs was very hot in the summer and cold in winter. With having central air, we still needed AC units and space heaters to manage. Dan set up a great plan to eliminate that. He and his crew were able to come and finish the job shortly after we first met. They were quick, clean and managed to crawl into small spaces to remove old insulation and install fresh insulation. We have already noticed a major difference! Highly recommended!!
We hired Master Attic to clean out debris, mice, old insulation, and replace with new insulation in both our attic spaces. Roberto and his crew did a phenomenal job. They were extremely professional, polite, and did a fantastic job. They invited my husband to see the attic after each step, and took pictures on their phone to show me since I could not get up in the attic. They took the time to protect the space with plastic sheeting before the job up in the attic, and then cleaned up everything perfectly afterwards. I highly recommend them!
Great job by the team. Cleaned out the entire attic and replaced all the old insulation with new fresh insulation. Made a huge difference. Alex was great to work with and was very professional. Would highly recommend.
Awesome experience from start to finish. Rob provided a great assessment and capabilities overview, arrived on time and was very generous and thorough in explaining the work. I signed on the spot. A crew of six arrived (again, on time) and completely transformed our attic space - thoroughly cleaned out the old insulation (looked spotless afterwards), sanitized the space, sealed it/rodent proofed it, added baffles and of course, replaced the insulation and added more in areas that needed it. Completed the whole job in half a day and we are delighted with the result. Thank you, Master Attic team, for a job very well done! Highest recommendation.
What a great experience I had with this company and its employees. It started with initially interacting with Joe who came out for the estimate. He was funny because he came down from my attic and said "have you seen up there". I laughed because I had and I knew it was bad. He was no pressure and no nonsense. Gave me an estimate and said if I wanted we could have the work done next day. I wasn't ready for that but after some schedule juggling I told him we could be ready. Joe had his guys out next morning with the best part being Jorge calling me to advise he was about thirty minutes out. I appreciate when I am given a heads up as to ETA. Three of them arrived Jorge set out plastic and covered exposed furniture. Jorge, Angel and Gonzalo were all polite and worked hard to complete the task. They worked efficiently and were done quickly. Jorge made sure he included me in each step of the process and when I saw the finished product I was amazed. I can actually use my attic for storage if I choose to do so. I did not realize when they were here that they also do work on crawlspace areas. I will be calling them back to see what they can do for my crawlspace which easily rivals the diasaster called my attic. I recommend at least giving this company and its employees an opportunity to help you.
Great company to work with. From beginning to end, Dan came out, spent plenty of time with me going over everything that needed to be done, and the process of everything that needed to be updated it both attics. His professionalism was top notch, answered all my question and concerns. When it came time for George and his six-man crew to do the work their quality of workmanship was well above average, they were here the whole day, and I don't think they even had a lunch break (hopefully I don't get him in trouble). They all worked and everyone knew what their job was, they removed all the insulation, cleaned, spray foamed all holes and top plates, re-insulated both attics and cleaned up like they weren't even here. Will definitely use them again.
Master Attic remediated a bat issue for us back in October and I can’t say enough about what a wonderful job they did. The work was guaranteed and they encouraged us to call if we say any further evidence of bats. Well, there were a few droppings in the attic and they quickly responded to our concerns. Jose’s crew came out on a SUNDAY, inspected the attic, and sealed up several spots that could be entry points. They were professional, efficient, and kind. I would highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.
New Crawlspace Insulation in Princeton Junction: Questions We Get
What actually happens when new crawlspace insulation goes into a Princeton Junction house?
Fresh material gets fitted between the floor joists that a raised ranch or split-level actually rests on, after the rim joist and any gaps around plumbing or ductwork are sealed first. It is fitted snugly and held in place rather than draped loosely, which is the usual reason older insulation ends up sagging or falling within a few years.
From the first piece to the last, how long does a new insulation job run?
The size of the crawl space and whether the old material needs removing first are what set the pace here, not a fixed number of days. A straightforward install over a clear, dry crawl space goes quickly, while one that also needs removal, cleanup or rim joist sealing first takes longer. The full schedule is written into your estimate before work begins.
Are there rebates for new crawlspace insulation in West Windsor?
West Windsor is PSE&G territory, and the NJ Clean Energy Program, alongside PSE&G's own efficiency incentives, has covered new insulation and air sealing work before. We will look at what applies to your project and walk you through it at the time of the estimate.
Do the newer townhomes near the train station need new crawlspace insulation?
Some do. Builder-grade insulation installed a decade ago was not always brought up to what current guidance recommends, and it can settle or thin out over time the same as older material, just more slowly. A cold floor in a newer Princeton Junction townhome is worth an inspection even if the house looks well built otherwise.
How do you decide how much new insulation a crawl space needs?
The inspection looks at what is already there, whether any of it has fallen, gone damp or been chewed through, and how the joists and rim joist are laid out, before recommending a specific plan for that crawl space. Nothing gets installed based on a phone description alone.
Does the old insulation need to be removed before you install new material?
Damp, sagging insulation or anything a rodent has nested in comes out first, since covering it up with new material would only hide the problem rather than solve it. Dry, undamaged sections that are simply thin or incomplete can sometimes be built up instead of pulled out entirely, which the inspection will tell you.
What other Mercer County towns do you install crawlspace insulation in?
Beyond Princeton Junction, we regularly install new crawlspace insulation across Plainsboro, Princeton, East Windsor, Hightstown and Cranbury, plus the rest of Mercer County, and Route 1 gets us up into North Brunswick in Middlesex County too, schedule permitting.
What's the difference between new crawlspace insulation and crawl space encapsulation?
New insulation goes between the floor joists to keep the living space above warm, while encapsulation covers the ground and foundation walls with a vapor barrier to stop moisture from coming up out of the soil. Many Princeton Junction crawl spaces need both, and the inspection will tell you whether one, the other, or both make sense for your house.
