Master Attic did a phenomenal job with our attic insulation and duct replacement. We had a loss from smoke damage from a neighboring fire and we were met with compassion and excellent customer service from Danny Jones and Jorge Diaz. We chose them for their quality of work, expertise and fair pricing and they got the job done promptly. Thank you for the excellent work and we will be recommending you highly!

How We Remove Attic Insulation in Princeton Junction
In Princeton Junction, a removal call almost always traces back to one of three causes: a slow leak from the roof or a duct joint has soaked the material, a squirrel or raccoon denned in it at some point, or the batts have simply pressed flat over the decades and stopped doing much. The inspection sorts out which cause applies and how far it has spread before any of it comes out.
Contaminated or soaked material is vacuumed out and bagged rather than shoveled loose, which keeps dust, debris and whatever a raccoon left behind from spreading into the living space below. Where the damage traces back to squirrels, raccoons or mice, the entry point at the roofline or soffit gets closed up by the same crew doing the removal work, not scheduled as a separate call.
Once the old material and anything it was hiding are gone, the attic gets cleaned and sanitized before new insulation goes in, whether that means blown-in, batts, or a mix suited to how a particular Princeton Junction attic is framed. The estimate covers both stages in writing, so removal and replacement are priced and explained together.

What We Find in Princeton Junction Attics Before Removal
The four conditions that most often send an attic insulation removal call our way here.
A roof flashing that has started to fail or a duct joint that has come loose can drip into attic insulation quietly for a long stretch before a Princeton Junction homeowner ever notices a mark on the ceiling below. By then the affected material has usually matted flat and needs to come out before anything else is worth doing up there.
A worn soffit board near Berrien City or Grovers Mill gives a squirrel or raccoon a way onto the roof, and once inside, the mess it leaves behind runs deeper than the insulation it flattens: droppings and urine soak into the material itself. Mice do the same on a smaller scale in tighter, older attics near the station.
The batts installed in Princeton Junction's postwar ranches and early colonials have compressed over the decades, and compressed insulation stops doing much of anything. Where it is otherwise dry and clean, it can sometimes be topped rather than pulled, which the inspection sorts out attic by attic.
The framing that carries a taller ceiling or a room over the garage in a bigger Princeton Junction house also tucks insulation into knee walls and chases that a simple floor sweep never reaches. Pulling all of the contaminated material out of those spots, not just the open floor, is part of why the crew vacuums instead of hand-pulling.

We just had our attic insulation replaced, and the entire experience was pleasant from start to finish. Robert is knowledgeable, honest and easy to work with at the initial estimate period. Roberta and his crew did a great job replacing the attic insulation for our house. They were very professional, efficient and respectful. They did everything that needed to be done and left the space clean and in excellent condition. I am very happy that I chose Master Attic and would highly recommend them.
Dan Jones and the Ronald crew did a great job from start to finish! I had original insulation in my attic with no electricity, not an easy job. Our upstairs was very hot in the summer and cold in winter. With having central air, we still needed AC units and space heaters to manage. Dan set up a great plan to eliminate that. He and his crew were able to come and finish the job shortly after we first met. They were quick, clean and managed to crawl into small spaces to remove old insulation and install fresh insulation. We have already noticed a major difference! Highly recommended!!
We hired Master Attic to clean out debris, mice, old insulation, and replace with new insulation in both our attic spaces. Roberto and his crew did a phenomenal job. They were extremely professional, polite, and did a fantastic job. They invited my husband to see the attic after each step, and took pictures on their phone to show me since I could not get up in the attic. They took the time to protect the space with plastic sheeting before the job up in the attic, and then cleaned up everything perfectly afterwards. I highly recommend them!
Great job by the team. Cleaned out the entire attic and replaced all the old insulation with new fresh insulation. Made a huge difference. Alex was great to work with and was very professional. Would highly recommend.
Awesome experience from start to finish. Rob provided a great assessment and capabilities overview, arrived on time and was very generous and thorough in explaining the work. I signed on the spot. A crew of six arrived (again, on time) and completely transformed our attic space - thoroughly cleaned out the old insulation (looked spotless afterwards), sanitized the space, sealed it/rodent proofed it, added baffles and of course, replaced the insulation and added more in areas that needed it. Completed the whole job in half a day and we are delighted with the result. Thank you, Master Attic team, for a job very well done! Highest recommendation.
What a great experience I had with this company and its employees. It started with initially interacting with Joe who came out for the estimate. He was funny because he came down from my attic and said "have you seen up there". I laughed because I had and I knew it was bad. He was no pressure and no nonsense. Gave me an estimate and said if I wanted we could have the work done next day. I wasn't ready for that but after some schedule juggling I told him we could be ready. Joe had his guys out next morning with the best part being Jorge calling me to advise he was about thirty minutes out. I appreciate when I am given a heads up as to ETA. Three of them arrived Jorge set out plastic and covered exposed furniture. Jorge, Angel and Gonzalo were all polite and worked hard to complete the task. They worked efficiently and were done quickly. Jorge made sure he included me in each step of the process and when I saw the finished product I was amazed. I can actually use my attic for storage if I choose to do so. I did not realize when they were here that they also do work on crawlspace areas. I will be calling them back to see what they can do for my crawlspace which easily rivals the diasaster called my attic. I recommend at least giving this company and its employees an opportunity to help you.
Great company to work with. From beginning to end, Dan came out, spent plenty of time with me going over everything that needed to be done, and the process of everything that needed to be updated it both attics. His professionalism was top notch, answered all my question and concerns. When it came time for George and his six-man crew to do the work their quality of workmanship was well above average, they were here the whole day, and I don't think they even had a lunch break (hopefully I don't get him in trouble). They all worked and everyone knew what their job was, they removed all the insulation, cleaned, spray foamed all holes and top plates, re-insulated both attics and cleaned up like they weren't even here. Will definitely use them again.
Master Attic remediated a bat issue for us back in October and I can’t say enough about what a wonderful job they did. The work was guaranteed and they encouraged us to call if we say any further evidence of bats. Well, there were a few droppings in the attic and they quickly responded to our concerns. Jose’s crew came out on a SUNDAY, inspected the attic, and sealed up several spots that could be entry points. They were professional, efficient, and kind. I would highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.
Attic Insulation Removal in Princeton Junction: Questions We Get
How do I know whether my attic needs a full removal instead of a top-up?
A musty smell, a visible stain on the material, or a known history of squirrels or raccoons in the attic are the usual signals that removal comes first. Insulation that is simply thin but otherwise clean and dry does not need to go anywhere, it just needs more added. Which situation applies gets sorted out at the free inspection, not guessed at over the phone.
Why do some Princeton Junction removal visits run longer than others?
How much has accumulated and what shape it left the attic in matter more than how big the attic is. A small attic with limited, dry damage moves quickly, while a colonial with several chases to work around, or a heavier history of squirrels or raccoons, adds real time. That distinction shows up in your written estimate before the crew ever starts.
Do any incentives apply to insulation replacement after a removal in West Windsor?
West Windsor sits in PSE&G country, and state or utility efficiency offerings have applied to replacement insulation here in the past, though what is open shifts around. Once we know the scope of material being replaced, we will flag anything that looks like it could apply to your project.
Does insulation ever need removing from a townhome that was only built recently?
Less often than in an older house, but it happens. A construction-stage leak, a gap a rodent found before the builder closed it, or condensation from a poorly vented bathroom fan can all damage insulation regardless of the house's age, including the newer construction near the Princeton Junction station. The inspection is what actually settles whether removal is needed.
Is the removal messy for the rest of the house?
It should not be. Old material is bagged as it comes out of the attic rather than dumped loose, and the path to the attic access gets protected before anyone starts, which keeps dust and debris out of the living space. The attic itself is cleaned and sanitized once the old material is gone.
Does new insulation always follow right behind a removal?
On most Princeton Junction jobs, yes, the attic is cleared, cleaned, sanitized and reinsulated to current guidance as one project. Removal by itself is also available for anyone who wants to hold off on the reinsulation step for a while.
Besides Princeton Junction, where else nearby do you do this kind of removal work?
Plainsboro and Princeton sit right next to Princeton Junction, while Hightstown, East Windsor and Cranbury are only a short drive further out. Removal work in any of those five keeps our crews busy through a typical week, on top of the rest of Mercer County.
Will removing old insulation make my Princeton Junction house colder in the meantime?
For the short stretch the work is underway, yes, an open attic floor is not doing much insulating. New material goes back in as soon as the space is clean rather than being left open any longer than the job requires, and your written estimate tells you roughly what that stretch looks like beforehand.
