How We Remove Raccoons From Millville Attics and Crawl Spaces
Raccoon calls in Millville, New Jersey come from two directions: through the roofline and soffit into the attic, and through a gap around a foundation vent or a crawl door that no longer latches, into the space beneath the house. Both are common here because Maurice River Township's forest edge sits right against the city, and we start every call by finding which one, or both, is in play.
Removal stays humane throughout. Most of the time a one-way door does the job: the raccoon exits on its own schedule to feed and simply cannot get back inside. Trapping comes into play mainly when young are still with the mother and need to come out together, since separating them tends to bring her right back. Either method ends the same way, the animal leaves without being harmed.
Once the raccoon is gone, we seal the opening it used, whether that is a soffit gap on a century-old Glasstown house or a foundation vent on a postwar ranch, then clear out the insulation and debris it left behind and sanitize the space. The estimate covers exclusion and cleanup together so nothing gets left half finished.

What We Find in Millville Attics and Crawl Spaces
The four conditions raccoon calls in Millville usually turn up.
The forested edge of Maurice River Township borders Millville directly, and raccoons cross from it onto older rooflines in Woodland Shores and near downtown, finding their way in through a soffit or fascia seam that has worked loose with age.
The postwar ranches that make up most of Millville outside the old factory blocks sit on vented crawl spaces, and a raccoon looking for a den will pull loose a foundation vent screen or push through a crawl door that does not latch tightly.
A denning raccoon is after bedding material, and insulation works for that purpose just as well as anything softer, so it gets torn apart and soiled with droppings along the way. Getting rid of what the animal ruined, and disinfecting the area it ruined, happens on its own before we even talk about putting anything new down.
Millville's high water table keeps many crawl spaces humid year round, and that same dark, undisturbed space that makes encapsulation worth doing is exactly the kind of spot a raccoon looks for when it is denning underneath a house.

We just had our attic insulation replaced, and the entire experience was pleasant from start to finish. Robert is knowledgeable, honest and easy to work with at the initial estimate period. Roberta and his crew did a great job replacing the attic insulation for our house. They were very professional, efficient and respectful. They did everything that needed to be done and left the space clean and in excellent condition. I am very happy that I chose Master Attic and would highly recommend them.
Dan Jones and the Ronald crew did a great job from start to finish! I had original insulation in my attic with no electricity, not an easy job. Our upstairs was very hot in the summer and cold in winter. With having central air, we still needed AC units and space heaters to manage. Dan set up a great plan to eliminate that. He and his crew were able to come and finish the job shortly after we first met. They were quick, clean and managed to crawl into small spaces to remove old insulation and install fresh insulation. We have already noticed a major difference! Highly recommended!!
We hired Master Attic to clean out debris, mice, old insulation, and replace with new insulation in both our attic spaces. Roberto and his crew did a phenomenal job. They were extremely professional, polite, and did a fantastic job. They invited my husband to see the attic after each step, and took pictures on their phone to show me since I could not get up in the attic. They took the time to protect the space with plastic sheeting before the job up in the attic, and then cleaned up everything perfectly afterwards. I highly recommend them!
Great job by the team. Cleaned out the entire attic and replaced all the old insulation with new fresh insulation. Made a huge difference. Alex was great to work with and was very professional. Would highly recommend.
Awesome experience from start to finish. Rob provided a great assessment and capabilities overview, arrived on time and was very generous and thorough in explaining the work. I signed on the spot. A crew of six arrived (again, on time) and completely transformed our attic space - thoroughly cleaned out the old insulation (looked spotless afterwards), sanitized the space, sealed it/rodent proofed it, added baffles and of course, replaced the insulation and added more in areas that needed it. Completed the whole job in half a day and we are delighted with the result. Thank you, Master Attic team, for a job very well done! Highest recommendation.
What a great experience I had with this company and its employees. It started with initially interacting with Joe who came out for the estimate. He was funny because he came down from my attic and said "have you seen up there". I laughed because I had and I knew it was bad. He was no pressure and no nonsense. Gave me an estimate and said if I wanted we could have the work done next day. I wasn't ready for that but after some schedule juggling I told him we could be ready. Joe had his guys out next morning with the best part being Jorge calling me to advise he was about thirty minutes out. I appreciate when I am given a heads up as to ETA. Three of them arrived Jorge set out plastic and covered exposed furniture. Jorge, Angel and Gonzalo were all polite and worked hard to complete the task. They worked efficiently and were done quickly. Jorge made sure he included me in each step of the process and when I saw the finished product I was amazed. I can actually use my attic for storage if I choose to do so. I did not realize when they were here that they also do work on crawlspace areas. I will be calling them back to see what they can do for my crawlspace which easily rivals the diasaster called my attic. I recommend at least giving this company and its employees an opportunity to help you.
Great company to work with. From beginning to end, Dan came out, spent plenty of time with me going over everything that needed to be done, and the process of everything that needed to be updated it both attics. His professionalism was top notch, answered all my question and concerns. When it came time for George and his six-man crew to do the work their quality of workmanship was well above average, they were here the whole day, and I don't think they even had a lunch break (hopefully I don't get him in trouble). They all worked and everyone knew what their job was, they removed all the insulation, cleaned, spray foamed all holes and top plates, re-insulated both attics and cleaned up like they weren't even here. Will definitely use them again.
Master Attic remediated a bat issue for us back in October and I can’t say enough about what a wonderful job they did. The work was guaranteed and they encouraged us to call if we say any further evidence of bats. Well, there were a few droppings in the attic and they quickly responded to our concerns. Jose’s crew came out on a SUNDAY, inspected the attic, and sealed up several spots that could be entry points. They were professional, efficient, and kind. I would highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.
Raccoon Removal in Millville: Questions We Get
What signs point to a raccoon rather than something smaller in a Millville attic?
Weight is the biggest tell, heavy thumping or footsteps overhead rather than light scurrying, along with a torn soffit or vent screen, droppings gathered in one spot instead of scattered widely, and a strong odor once an animal has settled in. Noise from underneath the house instead of overhead usually means the crawl space rather than the attic.
Will sealing the entry point be enough to keep raccoons out for good?
It is the biggest part of it, but a Millville house near the Maurice River Township tree line often has more than one weak spot, so we check the whole roofline and foundation, not just the opening that was used this time, before we call the job finished.
Does removing insulation after a raccoon problem qualify for any rebates in Millville?
The exclusion work itself, sealing the entry point and removing the animal, is not the rebate-eligible part. New insulation installed once the attic or crawl space is clean sometimes qualifies for utility efficiency programs, depending on what is currently running. We check what applies before finishing your estimate, so the number you see already accounts for it rather than getting adjusted later.
Are raccoons in a Millville attic dangerous?
They can act defensively if they feel cornered, and like most wildlife they can carry disease, so we would not recommend trying to handle one yourself. Keeping distance and calling a professional once you suspect one is in the attic or crawl space is the safer route for everyone in the house.
Which removal approach does Master Attic actually use on a Millville raccoon?
A one-way door at the entry point handles most situations, the raccoon leaves to feed and simply cannot get back through it. When young are still with the mother, or the opening itself makes a one-way door impractical, humane trapping takes over instead, since either method has to end with the animal removed unharmed.
How long does raccoon removal take?
It depends heavily on the situation. A single adult with a clear entry point can be handled fairly quickly with a one-way door, while young still with the mother, multiple access points, or a den that has been established for a while all add time, since rushing any of those can just send the animal looking for a new way in. The approach and the schedule for your specific case get laid out in the written estimate after the inspection.
Does Master Attic handle raccoon removal outside Millville too?
Master Attic handles wildlife calls across all of Cumberland County, not just inside Millville itself. Bridgeton, Vineland, Commercial Township, Lawrence Township, Deerfield Township and Maurice River Township, which shares Millville's eastern border along the forest edge that sends most of the raccoon traffic this way, all fall inside our regular coverage, and every one of those calls gets the same free inspection and written estimate.
Do raccoons return to a house after being removed once?
It can happen, especially if the entry point is not sealed or if food or shelter is still easy to find nearby, which is common this close to Maurice River Township's tree line. Sealing every weak point we find during the inspection is what keeps a raccoon from simply trying again.
