Master Attic did a phenomenal job with our attic insulation and duct replacement. We had a loss from smoke damage from a neighboring fire and we were met with compassion and excellent customer service from Danny Jones and Jorge Diaz. We chose them for their quality of work, expertise and fair pricing and they got the job done promptly. Thank you for the excellent work and we will be recommending you highly!

A Raccoon Job in Bridgeton, Attic or Crawl Space
In Bridgeton's oldest downtown blocks, a raccoon rarely respects the line between attic and crawl space. Balloon framing runs the wall cavity straight from the sill to the roofline with nothing to stop an animal partway, so a raccoon that gets in low, through a broken foundation vent or a lifted skirting panel, can end up denning two stories up without ever going back outside. Out in Hillside and Southside, where the framing is newer, the attic and the crawl space stay two separate problems, each with its own point of entry to track down.
Locating that route matters more than anything else on the job. We watch the roofline for a cornice or soffit gap on older trim and check the crawl space perimeter for a vent that no longer sits flush or a spot where skirting has pulled loose. A device goes in that lets the animal walk out under its own power and shuts behind it, and if there are young ones denning nearby, the timing changes until they're old enough to leave too.
What happens after the raccoon is gone depends on how long it had been there. Torn insulation, chewed ductwork, a punctured vapor barrier, waste worked into whatever material it denned near, all of it gets priced on the same walk-through as the exclusion itself, laid out on one written estimate before anything is scheduled.

The Shape of a Typical Bridgeton Raccoon Call
Four patterns that keep coming up on raccoon jobs around Bridgeton.
Downtown's balloon-framed houses run an open stud cavity from the sill plate to the roof, so a raccoon working its way up from a crawl space opening can surface in the attic without a second entry point anywhere in between.
Cornice boards and soffit panels on the historic district's Victorian houses have had generations to loosen, and a gap wide enough for a raccoon's paw is usually all that separates a quiet roofline from an animal denning overhead.
Crawl space skirting and foundation vents around Hillside and Southside sit close to ground that the Cohansey's tidal reach keeps consistently damp, and a raccoon pulling a panel loose to get underneath just adds itself to a moisture problem already in progress.
A rowhouse crawl space downtown, cramped and close to the water table, calls for different gear than an open Hillside attic, so the same inspection walks both spaces before a Bridgeton raccoon estimate gets written up.

We just had our attic insulation replaced, and the entire experience was pleasant from start to finish. Robert is knowledgeable, honest and easy to work with at the initial estimate period. Roberta and his crew did a great job replacing the attic insulation for our house. They were very professional, efficient and respectful. They did everything that needed to be done and left the space clean and in excellent condition. I am very happy that I chose Master Attic and would highly recommend them.
Dan Jones and the Ronald crew did a great job from start to finish! I had original insulation in my attic with no electricity, not an easy job. Our upstairs was very hot in the summer and cold in winter. With having central air, we still needed AC units and space heaters to manage. Dan set up a great plan to eliminate that. He and his crew were able to come and finish the job shortly after we first met. They were quick, clean and managed to crawl into small spaces to remove old insulation and install fresh insulation. We have already noticed a major difference! Highly recommended!!
We hired Master Attic to clean out debris, mice, old insulation, and replace with new insulation in both our attic spaces. Roberto and his crew did a phenomenal job. They were extremely professional, polite, and did a fantastic job. They invited my husband to see the attic after each step, and took pictures on their phone to show me since I could not get up in the attic. They took the time to protect the space with plastic sheeting before the job up in the attic, and then cleaned up everything perfectly afterwards. I highly recommend them!
Great job by the team. Cleaned out the entire attic and replaced all the old insulation with new fresh insulation. Made a huge difference. Alex was great to work with and was very professional. Would highly recommend.
Awesome experience from start to finish. Rob provided a great assessment and capabilities overview, arrived on time and was very generous and thorough in explaining the work. I signed on the spot. A crew of six arrived (again, on time) and completely transformed our attic space - thoroughly cleaned out the old insulation (looked spotless afterwards), sanitized the space, sealed it/rodent proofed it, added baffles and of course, replaced the insulation and added more in areas that needed it. Completed the whole job in half a day and we are delighted with the result. Thank you, Master Attic team, for a job very well done! Highest recommendation.
What a great experience I had with this company and its employees. It started with initially interacting with Joe who came out for the estimate. He was funny because he came down from my attic and said "have you seen up there". I laughed because I had and I knew it was bad. He was no pressure and no nonsense. Gave me an estimate and said if I wanted we could have the work done next day. I wasn't ready for that but after some schedule juggling I told him we could be ready. Joe had his guys out next morning with the best part being Jorge calling me to advise he was about thirty minutes out. I appreciate when I am given a heads up as to ETA. Three of them arrived Jorge set out plastic and covered exposed furniture. Jorge, Angel and Gonzalo were all polite and worked hard to complete the task. They worked efficiently and were done quickly. Jorge made sure he included me in each step of the process and when I saw the finished product I was amazed. I can actually use my attic for storage if I choose to do so. I did not realize when they were here that they also do work on crawlspace areas. I will be calling them back to see what they can do for my crawlspace which easily rivals the diasaster called my attic. I recommend at least giving this company and its employees an opportunity to help you.
Great company to work with. From beginning to end, Dan came out, spent plenty of time with me going over everything that needed to be done, and the process of everything that needed to be updated it both attics. His professionalism was top notch, answered all my question and concerns. When it came time for George and his six-man crew to do the work their quality of workmanship was well above average, they were here the whole day, and I don't think they even had a lunch break (hopefully I don't get him in trouble). They all worked and everyone knew what their job was, they removed all the insulation, cleaned, spray foamed all holes and top plates, re-insulated both attics and cleaned up like they weren't even here. Will definitely use them again.
Master Attic remediated a bat issue for us back in October and I can’t say enough about what a wonderful job they did. The work was guaranteed and they encouraged us to call if we say any further evidence of bats. Well, there were a few droppings in the attic and they quickly responded to our concerns. Jose’s crew came out on a SUNDAY, inspected the attic, and sealed up several spots that could be entry points. They were professional, efficient, and kind. I would highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.
Raccoon Removal in Bridgeton: Questions We Get
What's involved in clearing a raccoon out of a Bridgeton attic or crawl space?
Figuring out the actual access point comes first, a roofline gap for an attic, a broken vent or lifted skirting for a crawl space. From there a device goes in that lets the animal walk out on its own without a way back inside. Once the den has stayed quiet long enough to be sure it's truly empty, the opening gets closed for good and whatever got damaged inside gets addressed.
How long does it take to clear a raccoon out of a Bridgeton house?
That mostly comes down to whether young raccoons are involved. An adult on its own can usually be excluded in short order, but a mother denning with a litter needs to be given time, the young have to grow old enough to travel out under their own power before we'll separate the family. We'll walk you through the likely timeline once we've seen the den for ourselves, and it goes into the written estimate.
Do NJ incentives cover insulation replaced after a raccoon problem in Bridgeton?
Sometimes, depending on what's funded when the work happens. Bridgeton runs on Atlantic City Electric, and insulation going back in after raccoon damage is generally evaluated the same way any other insulation job would be for incentive purposes. We look into what's actually available at the time of your estimate rather than guess ahead of it.
Will the raccoon just come back after the opening is sealed?
Not if the seal actually holds, which is the reason we treat the one-way door as a first step rather than the finish line: an opening that worked once tends to get tried again, by the same animal or a different one, so nothing gets permanently closed until we're confident the space is truly clear.
How can I tell if it's a raccoon in the attic versus the crawl space?
An attic raccoon is usually the noisy option, thumping around after dark and sometimes leaving visible damage at the roofline. One underneath the house tends to stay quieter, showing up instead as a torn vapor barrier, a vent panel knocked loose, or a smell working its way up through the floorboards. We walk both spaces during one inspection regardless of which one you suspect.
Will you clean up the damage or just close off the entry point?
Both get addressed, not just one or the other. An opening sealed over torn insulation or a chewed vapor barrier just hides a problem instead of solving it, so cleanup and sanitizing get priced alongside the exclusion itself whenever the raccoon left enough of a mess to justify it.
Does Master Attic handle raccoon calls beyond Bridgeton proper?
It does, across the wider Cumberland County footprint: Upper Deerfield, Hopewell, Fairfield and Greenwich Townships sit right around Bridgeton, and Vineland and Millville aren't much further out. The mix of older and newer construction we see in those towns is close enough to Bridgeton's own that the approach barely changes.
Is a raccoon denning near the Cohansey a real safety concern?
Worth taking seriously, yes. An animal defending young will act aggressively if it feels trapped, and raccoons can carry parasites regardless of temperament, so handling one directly isn't something we'd recommend. Beyond the animal itself, a raccoon working through crawl space skirting near the Cohansey usually means a torn vapor barrier and fouled ground on top of dampness that was probably already there.
