Master Attic did a phenomenal job with our attic insulation and duct replacement. We had a loss from smoke damage from a neighboring fire and we were met with compassion and excellent customer service from Danny Jones and Jorge Diaz. We chose them for their quality of work, expertise and fair pricing and they got the job done promptly. Thank you for the excellent work and we will be recommending you highly!

Rodent Exclusion Work in a Millville Attic or Crawl Space
An animal getting into a Millville attic almost never starts at the middle of the roof. It starts at a weak seam, where a soffit panel has pulled loose, where fascia boards have separated after years of freeze and thaw, or where a gable vent screen has rusted through. Sealing that seam is the actual work of rodent proofing; everything else, the cleanup, the sanitizing, follows from finding it first.
Construction style matters here more than most homeowners expect. A lot of the frame houses built close to Glasstown and downtown went up using balloon framing, a method that leaves the wall cavities open from the lower floors straight into the attic. An animal that gets past the roofline on one of these older houses can end up much deeper in the structure than it would in a house framed the modern way. Nested insulation, droppings and debris all get cleared before anything goes back in, and the space gets sanitized as a matter of course.
Foundation vents, loose skirting and gaps around utility penetrations do the same job at ground level that a soffit gap does at the roofline, so a crawl space inspection gets just as much attention as an attic one. What gets used to close a given opening, mesh, flashing, hardware cloth, depends on its size and location, and that gets decided on site rather than guessed at beforehand. The estimate that follows is written and free.

What We Find in Millville Attics & Crawl Spaces
Four recurring conditions behind the exclusion calls we get from around Millville.
Frame houses built close to downtown and Glasstown often used balloon framing, leaving a wall cavity that runs open from the lower floors into the attic. That gap becomes a highway for anything that gets past the roofline, one more reason an entry point needs sealing the moment it is found.
A century of freeze and thaw work the soffit and fascia loose on the city's oldest frame construction, and once a gap opens at the roofline it tends to stay open until something finds it.
Maurice River Township is mostly woodland along Millville's eastern line, and wildlife crossing that border finds its way onto rooftops in Woodland Shores and the blocks near downtown, working any loose panel until it gives way.
Gapped foundation vents and loose skirting on Millville's crawl spaces do for ground-level animals what a soffit gap does at the roofline, and the same high water table that draws in moisture also seems to draw wildlife looking for a way into the crawl space itself.

We just had our attic insulation replaced, and the entire experience was pleasant from start to finish. Robert is knowledgeable, honest and easy to work with at the initial estimate period. Roberta and his crew did a great job replacing the attic insulation for our house. They were very professional, efficient and respectful. They did everything that needed to be done and left the space clean and in excellent condition. I am very happy that I chose Master Attic and would highly recommend them.
Dan Jones and the Ronald crew did a great job from start to finish! I had original insulation in my attic with no electricity, not an easy job. Our upstairs was very hot in the summer and cold in winter. With having central air, we still needed AC units and space heaters to manage. Dan set up a great plan to eliminate that. He and his crew were able to come and finish the job shortly after we first met. They were quick, clean and managed to crawl into small spaces to remove old insulation and install fresh insulation. We have already noticed a major difference! Highly recommended!!
We hired Master Attic to clean out debris, mice, old insulation, and replace with new insulation in both our attic spaces. Roberto and his crew did a phenomenal job. They were extremely professional, polite, and did a fantastic job. They invited my husband to see the attic after each step, and took pictures on their phone to show me since I could not get up in the attic. They took the time to protect the space with plastic sheeting before the job up in the attic, and then cleaned up everything perfectly afterwards. I highly recommend them!
Great job by the team. Cleaned out the entire attic and replaced all the old insulation with new fresh insulation. Made a huge difference. Alex was great to work with and was very professional. Would highly recommend.
Awesome experience from start to finish. Rob provided a great assessment and capabilities overview, arrived on time and was very generous and thorough in explaining the work. I signed on the spot. A crew of six arrived (again, on time) and completely transformed our attic space - thoroughly cleaned out the old insulation (looked spotless afterwards), sanitized the space, sealed it/rodent proofed it, added baffles and of course, replaced the insulation and added more in areas that needed it. Completed the whole job in half a day and we are delighted with the result. Thank you, Master Attic team, for a job very well done! Highest recommendation.
What a great experience I had with this company and its employees. It started with initially interacting with Joe who came out for the estimate. He was funny because he came down from my attic and said "have you seen up there". I laughed because I had and I knew it was bad. He was no pressure and no nonsense. Gave me an estimate and said if I wanted we could have the work done next day. I wasn't ready for that but after some schedule juggling I told him we could be ready. Joe had his guys out next morning with the best part being Jorge calling me to advise he was about thirty minutes out. I appreciate when I am given a heads up as to ETA. Three of them arrived Jorge set out plastic and covered exposed furniture. Jorge, Angel and Gonzalo were all polite and worked hard to complete the task. They worked efficiently and were done quickly. Jorge made sure he included me in each step of the process and when I saw the finished product I was amazed. I can actually use my attic for storage if I choose to do so. I did not realize when they were here that they also do work on crawlspace areas. I will be calling them back to see what they can do for my crawlspace which easily rivals the diasaster called my attic. I recommend at least giving this company and its employees an opportunity to help you.
Great company to work with. From beginning to end, Dan came out, spent plenty of time with me going over everything that needed to be done, and the process of everything that needed to be updated it both attics. His professionalism was top notch, answered all my question and concerns. When it came time for George and his six-man crew to do the work their quality of workmanship was well above average, they were here the whole day, and I don't think they even had a lunch break (hopefully I don't get him in trouble). They all worked and everyone knew what their job was, they removed all the insulation, cleaned, spray foamed all holes and top plates, re-insulated both attics and cleaned up like they weren't even here. Will definitely use them again.
Master Attic remediated a bat issue for us back in October and I can’t say enough about what a wonderful job they did. The work was guaranteed and they encouraged us to call if we say any further evidence of bats. Well, there were a few droppings in the attic and they quickly responded to our concerns. Jose’s crew came out on a SUNDAY, inspected the attic, and sealed up several spots that could be entry points. They were professional, efficient, and kind. I would highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.
Rodent Proofing in Millville: Questions We Get
What's actually included when Master Attic rodent proofs a Millville attic?
The scope covers three things: locating every active and inactive opening at the roofline, the foundation, and around utility penetrations; closing each one with material sized to fit, mesh, flashing or hardware cloth; and clearing out and sanitizing anything an animal left behind. None of it involves poison or bait, since the goal is keeping animals out permanently, not managing them after the fact.
How long does exclusion work usually take on a Millville property?
A house with a single, obvious opening closes up in short order. One that has had a season of raccoon or squirrel activity in an older Glasstown attic takes more time, since contaminated insulation has to be pulled and the attic sanitized before anything gets sealed. Either way, the timeline is part of what the written estimate spells out, not something quoted sight unseen.
Does Millville qualify for any NJ rebates tied to rodent proofing?
Exclusion itself isn't a line item most rebate programs cover, but a good share of these jobs in Millville also replace insulation the animals ruined, and that portion can fall under Atlantic City Electric or NJ Clean Energy Program insulation offerings. Bring it up when we're on site so we can tell you what currently qualifies for your particular attic.
Will sealing my attic trap an animal inside by accident?
That is exactly what the inspection is there to prevent. Before any opening gets closed, we check for current activity, since sealing a live animal inside creates a worse problem than the one you started with. Where an animal is still present, it gets out first through the appropriate removal service, then the entry point is closed.
Why does an older Glasstown-area house need a different approach than newer construction?
Balloon framing was common in the houses built for the city's glassworkers, and it leaves the wall cavities open from the lower floors straight into the attic. That construction detail gets checked specifically, since it changes how far into the house an animal can travel once it finds a way past the roofline, and it changes where sealing has to happen to actually stop that path.
Do you remove the animal before sealing the entry point?
Rodent proofing on its own is exclusion and cleanup: finding the openings, sealing them, clearing out nested material and sanitizing. If something is still living inside when we inspect, getting it out comes first, through whichever service fits what is in there, mice, squirrel, raccoon or bat, before any opening gets closed for good.
How far outside Millville does Master Attic cover for rodent proofing?
All of Cumberland County. Bridgeton sits a few miles west, Vineland borders to the south, and the townships that touch Millville directly, Deerfield, Lawrence, Commercial and Maurice River Township, are all regular coverage. That last one is where most of the squirrel and raccoon pressure on Millville's rooflines actually originates.
Does every job require pulling all the old insulation?
Not if it is dry and hasn't been disturbed much. It comes out when it has visible droppings, has been used as nesting material, or is blocking a clear view of an opening that needs sealing, all common findings in the older frame attics near Glasstown after a season of activity. Which situation applies gets sorted out during the inspection, not guessed at ahead of time.
