How We Remove Raccoons in Glassboro
A raccoon reaches a Glassboro attic or crawl space through one of a handful of predictable weak points: a soft or damaged spot at the roofline, a gap where a soffit has pulled loose, or a foundation vent or crawl door left unsecured. The first step is finding that entry point, not guessing at it, since sealing the wrong spot only pushes the animal to try again somewhere else.
Once the entry point is confirmed, removal from the attic side is handled humanely, with a one-way panel built so a raccoon can push out to leave but cannot push back through from outside. A mother with young changes that plan: we trap and remove the whole litter directly rather than risk separating them, then close the opening for good. What raccoons leave behind, torn insulation, droppings, and matted bedding material, gets cleared and the attic sanitized once they are gone.
A crawl space gets the same attention below the house: foundation vents, crawl doors and gaps where a skirting board has come loose are common ways in. That matters most in the part of Glassboro west of Delsea Drive, where ranch and split-level construction more often means a crawl space underneath than a poured basement. Sealing that side of the house matters as much as the roofline, since a raccoon that cannot get into the attic will try the crawl space next.

Where Raccoons Get Into Glassboro Attics and Crawl Spaces
Four ways raccoons typically get into a Glassboro attic or crawl space.
Balloon-framed houses near downtown Glassboro and older construction throughout town can have soffit or fascia gaps that widen over the years, and a raccoon strong enough to pry at loose trim will use the first weak spot it finds.
A raccoon does not just sit on top of attic insulation, it compresses and shreds it building a den, so what was a full layer before the animal moved in is often flattened and unusable by the time it is found.
Delsea Drive roughly marks where Glassboro's building style shifts: houses to the west lean toward ranch and split-level designs, built with a below-grade crawl space where other parts of town would have a full basement, and an unsecured vent or a loose crawl door gives a raccoon a way in that is easy to miss from ground level.
A raccoon problem above the ceiling and one below the floor call for different access and different sealing work, so a Glassboro inspection covers the roofline and the foundation separately rather than assuming one fix handles both.

We just had our attic insulation replaced, and the entire experience was pleasant from start to finish. Robert is knowledgeable, honest and easy to work with at the initial estimate period. Roberta and his crew did a great job replacing the attic insulation for our house. They were very professional, efficient and respectful. They did everything that needed to be done and left the space clean and in excellent condition. I am very happy that I chose Master Attic and would highly recommend them.
Dan Jones and the Ronald crew did a great job from start to finish! I had original insulation in my attic with no electricity, not an easy job. Our upstairs was very hot in the summer and cold in winter. With having central air, we still needed AC units and space heaters to manage. Dan set up a great plan to eliminate that. He and his crew were able to come and finish the job shortly after we first met. They were quick, clean and managed to crawl into small spaces to remove old insulation and install fresh insulation. We have already noticed a major difference! Highly recommended!!
We hired Master Attic to clean out debris, mice, old insulation, and replace with new insulation in both our attic spaces. Roberto and his crew did a phenomenal job. They were extremely professional, polite, and did a fantastic job. They invited my husband to see the attic after each step, and took pictures on their phone to show me since I could not get up in the attic. They took the time to protect the space with plastic sheeting before the job up in the attic, and then cleaned up everything perfectly afterwards. I highly recommend them!
Great job by the team. Cleaned out the entire attic and replaced all the old insulation with new fresh insulation. Made a huge difference. Alex was great to work with and was very professional. Would highly recommend.
Awesome experience from start to finish. Rob provided a great assessment and capabilities overview, arrived on time and was very generous and thorough in explaining the work. I signed on the spot. A crew of six arrived (again, on time) and completely transformed our attic space - thoroughly cleaned out the old insulation (looked spotless afterwards), sanitized the space, sealed it/rodent proofed it, added baffles and of course, replaced the insulation and added more in areas that needed it. Completed the whole job in half a day and we are delighted with the result. Thank you, Master Attic team, for a job very well done! Highest recommendation.
What a great experience I had with this company and its employees. It started with initially interacting with Joe who came out for the estimate. He was funny because he came down from my attic and said "have you seen up there". I laughed because I had and I knew it was bad. He was no pressure and no nonsense. Gave me an estimate and said if I wanted we could have the work done next day. I wasn't ready for that but after some schedule juggling I told him we could be ready. Joe had his guys out next morning with the best part being Jorge calling me to advise he was about thirty minutes out. I appreciate when I am given a heads up as to ETA. Three of them arrived Jorge set out plastic and covered exposed furniture. Jorge, Angel and Gonzalo were all polite and worked hard to complete the task. They worked efficiently and were done quickly. Jorge made sure he included me in each step of the process and when I saw the finished product I was amazed. I can actually use my attic for storage if I choose to do so. I did not realize when they were here that they also do work on crawlspace areas. I will be calling them back to see what they can do for my crawlspace which easily rivals the diasaster called my attic. I recommend at least giving this company and its employees an opportunity to help you.
Great company to work with. From beginning to end, Dan came out, spent plenty of time with me going over everything that needed to be done, and the process of everything that needed to be updated it both attics. His professionalism was top notch, answered all my question and concerns. When it came time for George and his six-man crew to do the work their quality of workmanship was well above average, they were here the whole day, and I don't think they even had a lunch break (hopefully I don't get him in trouble). They all worked and everyone knew what their job was, they removed all the insulation, cleaned, spray foamed all holes and top plates, re-insulated both attics and cleaned up like they weren't even here. Will definitely use them again.
Master Attic remediated a bat issue for us back in October and I can’t say enough about what a wonderful job they did. The work was guaranteed and they encouraged us to call if we say any further evidence of bats. Well, there were a few droppings in the attic and they quickly responded to our concerns. Jose’s crew came out on a SUNDAY, inspected the attic, and sealed up several spots that could be entry points. They were professional, efficient, and kind. I would highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.
Raccoon Removal in Glassboro: Questions We Get
What does the raccoon removal process look like for a Glassboro attic?
Once we confirm where it is getting in, a one-way panel goes over that spot, built so the raccoon can push out to leave but cannot push back through from outside. A mother with young changes the plan: we trap and remove the whole litter directly rather than risk separating them, then close the opening for good once we are certain nothing is left inside.
What's the timeline for getting a raccoon out of a Glassboro attic or crawl space?
It depends on whether it is one animal or a mother with young, and how accessible the entry point is. A confirmed single raccoon using a one-way door can be resolved fairly quickly, while a litter or a hard-to-reach crawl space entry takes longer to handle properly. We give you a realistic schedule as part of the written estimate.
Will insurance or NJ programs help cover raccoon damage repair in Glassboro?
Wildlife removal itself sits outside what Atlantic City Electric or New Jersey's statewide incentive programs pay for, but insulation replacement after raccoon damage sometimes qualifies for the same rebates that apply to any other insulation job. We look into what applies to your situation once we know the extent of the damage.
Can raccoons get into a crawl space the same way they get into an attic?
Not the same way, but just as easily. A crawl space entry usually comes through an unsecured vent, a loose crawl door or a gap in the skirting rather than the roofline. That kind of entry point is common on the west side of Glassboro, where ranch and split-level houses were more often built with a crawl space than a basement. We check both areas on every visit.
What tells a raccoon apart from a squirrel or mouse in the attic?
Heavy footsteps and movement mostly at night point toward a raccoon rather than the lighter, faster scurrying of a squirrel or the scratching of mice. Raccoon droppings are also larger and often left in one repeated spot rather than scattered. We confirm what is actually up there during the inspection rather than guessing from the noise alone.
Why not just seal up the hole and be done with it?
Because a raccoon still inside when the opening closes is trapped in the attic or crawl space, which turns a manageable job into a much worse one. The one-way panel does the sealing gradually, letting the animal leave and locking behind it, and permanent repairs go in only once we confirm nothing is left inside.
What towns near Glassboro do you handle raccoon calls in?
Coverage runs across Gloucester County, with Elk Township and Mantua sitting on one side of Glassboro and Clayton, Washington Township and Pitman on the other. South Jersey beyond that, Camden County and Cherry Hill included, is standard raccoon-call territory too, and we still take calls from just past these lines.
Will raccoons come back to the same Glassboro attic after removal?
It happens, usually when the seal on the original opening was incomplete or another soft spot nearby went unnoticed. That is why closing up goes beyond just the confirmed entry point, covering any other loose trim, gaps or vents close by that a raccoon could try next season.
