Master Attic did a phenomenal job with our attic insulation and duct replacement. We had a loss from smoke damage from a neighboring fire and we were met with compassion and excellent customer service from Danny Jones and Jorge Diaz. We chose them for their quality of work, expertise and fair pricing and they got the job done promptly. Thank you for the excellent work and we will be recommending you highly!

How We Insulate an Attic in Glassboro
Every attic insulation job in Glassboro opens with a full walk-through rather than a phone quote: measuring what depth and condition the current material is in, tracking down where conditioned air is finding a way out through the ceiling, and weighing both against what current guidance for this part of New Jersey calls for on that particular roof.
Air sealing comes before depth. Top plates, the flue chase, recessed lights and the attic hatch are common leak points on a Glassboro roof, letting conditioned air slip upward no matter how much loose fill sits above them, so those get closed and baffles go in at the soffit before blown-in or batt insulation covers the floor. Material that is soaked, crumbling or shows signs of mice or squirrels comes out first rather than getting buried under something new.
A colonial near Rowan Boulevard and a newer house inside Village Grande at Camelot can both be short on insulation in the same spots for very different reasons, which is why the inspection covers the whole attic rather than a glance through the hatch. The written estimate that follows spells out the findings and the recommendation in plain terms, so the material and depth decision rests on the actual attic rather than a guess.
What We Install in Glassboro Attics
Six ways to bring a Glassboro, NJ attic up to today's standard, starting with a free inspection.
What We Find in Glassboro Attics
Four things a Glassboro attic inspection turns up more than anything else.
The oldest houses close to downtown, many framed during Glassboro's years as a glassmaking center, went up before ceiling insulation was standard at all, using the tall, narrow balloon framing typical of that period, so a good number of those attics have bare joists rather than an old layer to build on.
Rowan University keeps a steady rental population moving through Glassboro, and a landlord between leases is often the first to notice that squirrels have flattened or fouled a stretch of insulation nobody checked for a year or longer.
Gloucester County does not see the snow totals North Jersey gets, but Glassboro still cycles through enough freeze and thaw stretches most winters for a poorly sealed attic to cause trouble, melting the base of the snowpack and sending water back to ice at the cold edge of the roof.
A house finished last year at Village Grande at Camelot or along Rowan Boulevard can still be short on depth in a corner, or carry a stray gap where a bath fan or wiring run punches through the ceiling, the kind of detail a framing crew moves past without a second thought.

We just had our attic insulation replaced, and the entire experience was pleasant from start to finish. Robert is knowledgeable, honest and easy to work with at the initial estimate period. Roberta and his crew did a great job replacing the attic insulation for our house. They were very professional, efficient and respectful. They did everything that needed to be done and left the space clean and in excellent condition. I am very happy that I chose Master Attic and would highly recommend them.
Dan Jones and the Ronald crew did a great job from start to finish! I had original insulation in my attic with no electricity, not an easy job. Our upstairs was very hot in the summer and cold in winter. With having central air, we still needed AC units and space heaters to manage. Dan set up a great plan to eliminate that. He and his crew were able to come and finish the job shortly after we first met. They were quick, clean and managed to crawl into small spaces to remove old insulation and install fresh insulation. We have already noticed a major difference! Highly recommended!!
We hired Master Attic to clean out debris, mice, old insulation, and replace with new insulation in both our attic spaces. Roberto and his crew did a phenomenal job. They were extremely professional, polite, and did a fantastic job. They invited my husband to see the attic after each step, and took pictures on their phone to show me since I could not get up in the attic. They took the time to protect the space with plastic sheeting before the job up in the attic, and then cleaned up everything perfectly afterwards. I highly recommend them!
Great job by the team. Cleaned out the entire attic and replaced all the old insulation with new fresh insulation. Made a huge difference. Alex was great to work with and was very professional. Would highly recommend.
Awesome experience from start to finish. Rob provided a great assessment and capabilities overview, arrived on time and was very generous and thorough in explaining the work. I signed on the spot. A crew of six arrived (again, on time) and completely transformed our attic space - thoroughly cleaned out the old insulation (looked spotless afterwards), sanitized the space, sealed it/rodent proofed it, added baffles and of course, replaced the insulation and added more in areas that needed it. Completed the whole job in half a day and we are delighted with the result. Thank you, Master Attic team, for a job very well done! Highest recommendation.
What a great experience I had with this company and its employees. It started with initially interacting with Joe who came out for the estimate. He was funny because he came down from my attic and said "have you seen up there". I laughed because I had and I knew it was bad. He was no pressure and no nonsense. Gave me an estimate and said if I wanted we could have the work done next day. I wasn't ready for that but after some schedule juggling I told him we could be ready. Joe had his guys out next morning with the best part being Jorge calling me to advise he was about thirty minutes out. I appreciate when I am given a heads up as to ETA. Three of them arrived Jorge set out plastic and covered exposed furniture. Jorge, Angel and Gonzalo were all polite and worked hard to complete the task. They worked efficiently and were done quickly. Jorge made sure he included me in each step of the process and when I saw the finished product I was amazed. I can actually use my attic for storage if I choose to do so. I did not realize when they were here that they also do work on crawlspace areas. I will be calling them back to see what they can do for my crawlspace which easily rivals the diasaster called my attic. I recommend at least giving this company and its employees an opportunity to help you.
Great company to work with. From beginning to end, Dan came out, spent plenty of time with me going over everything that needed to be done, and the process of everything that needed to be updated it both attics. His professionalism was top notch, answered all my question and concerns. When it came time for George and his six-man crew to do the work their quality of workmanship was well above average, they were here the whole day, and I don't think they even had a lunch break (hopefully I don't get him in trouble). They all worked and everyone knew what their job was, they removed all the insulation, cleaned, spray foamed all holes and top plates, re-insulated both attics and cleaned up like they weren't even here. Will definitely use them again.
Master Attic remediated a bat issue for us back in October and I can’t say enough about what a wonderful job they did. The work was guaranteed and they encouraged us to call if we say any further evidence of bats. Well, there were a few droppings in the attic and they quickly responded to our concerns. Jose’s crew came out on a SUNDAY, inspected the attic, and sealed up several spots that could be entry points. They were professional, efficient, and kind. I would highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.
Attic Insulation in Glassboro: Questions We Get
How much attic insulation does a typical Glassboro house need?
The answer depends on what the attic already holds and the way it was framed to begin with, something the walk-through settles rather than a blanket number. Plenty of the balloon-framed houses close to downtown Glassboro were built before ceiling insulation was standard practice at all, so those attics often start from bare wood, while a postwar split usually has some depth already, just less than current guidance recommends.
What's a realistic timeline for an attic insulation job in Glassboro?
It varies with the attic. A postwar colonial that just needs air sealing and a top-up moves quickly, while a balloon-framed house near downtown with no existing insulation, or one that needs old material removed first, takes longer to do properly. We look at your specific attic and put the schedule for it into the written estimate.
Do Glassboro homeowners qualify for any insulation rebates?
New Jersey's statewide Clean Energy Program has, in certain years, put incentive dollars behind projects like attic insulation and air sealing, and it does not matter which company delivers electric service, Atlantic City Electric in Glassboro's case. Because funding availability shifts, we confirm what is live right now when we walk your attic for the free estimate.
Do the newer houses at Village Grande at Camelot need attic insulation work too?
They can, yes. A build finished within the last several years is not automatically free of gaps, especially around a bathroom fan housing, a wiring chase, or a knee wall that never got fully closed up during framing. We walk a new attic off Route 55 the same way we walk one that has stood near downtown for a century, checking depth, air sealing and airflow rather than taking the completion date as any kind of guarantee.
For a Glassboro attic, when does blown-in insulation make more sense than batts?
It comes down to access and shape more than preference. An open attic floor over a balloon-framed downtown house is usually a blown-in job first, while the knee walls and sloped ceilings typical of Glassboro's split-levels hold batts in place better, since loose fill migrates downhill on a slope. Quite a few attics end up using both once the walk-through maps where each material will actually stay put.
In a Glassboro attic, is removing the old insulation always necessary before adding new?
It depends on condition, not just age. Dry insulation that nothing has ever nested in can often stay in place with new blown-in material added over it. It has to come out when it is wet, when squirrels or mice have nested in it, common enough in Glassboro's rental housing near Rowan University, or when it is covering the top-plate gaps and duct chases we still have to seal.
Which towns near Glassboro do you cover for attic insulation?
We work throughout Gloucester County. Clayton and Pitman sit just to the west of Glassboro, Mantua and Washington Township to the south, and Elk Township close by as well, all regular stops. Camden County and the wider South Jersey market get the same crews, Cherry Hill among them, and calls from just outside these lines are still welcome.
Why do Glassboro roofs still get ice dams when South Jersey does not see much snow?
Snowfall totals here run lower than up in North Jersey, but Glassboro still goes through plenty of thaw-and-refreeze swings most winters, and that is really what drives an ice dam. Heat escaping through a leaky attic floor softens the snowpack from underneath on the warmer part of the roof, and the meltwater turns back to ice the instant it reaches the cold overhang. Sealing that leak path does more to stop it than adding depth alone.
