Master Attic did a phenomenal job with our attic insulation and duct replacement. We had a loss from smoke damage from a neighboring fire and we were met with compassion and excellent customer service from Danny Jones and Jorge Diaz. We chose them for their quality of work, expertise and fair pricing and they got the job done promptly. Thank you for the excellent work and we will be recommending you highly!

How Crawl Space Encapsulation Works in Glassboro
Left alone, the ground beneath a Glassboro crawl space stays exposed to whatever moisture the soil is holding, which on the sandy lots toward Delsea Drive is more than it looks. Encapsulation covers that ground and the surrounding foundation walls in a heavy vapor barrier and shuts off the vents that were feeding outside humidity into the space, cutting off the source rather than managing the symptom every summer.
Installation order matters more than it might seem. Anything already sitting on the ground, old insulation, scrap lumber, loose debris, comes out first, because a barrier laid over a mess just locks that mess in place instead of solving anything. The sheeting then goes down and up the walls, seams taped, piers and utility penetrations sealed one at a time, and the vents get closed last, once nothing underneath still needs outside air moving through it.
A finished job is judged by what stops happening afterward: no more standing dampness on the ground, no more musty air finding its way up through the floor. How much prep a specific Glassboro crawl space needs before that point, cleanup, insulation, or straight to the barrier, is what the free, written estimate lays out.
What Crawl Space Encapsulation in Glassboro Includes
A sealed Glassboro crawl space usually raises six other questions, all worth asking during the same walk-through.
What We Find in Glassboro Crawl Spaces
The four ground conditions that bring most encapsulation calls in Glassboro.
West of Delsea Drive, the sandy soil under most crawl spaces drains fast after a storm but still keeps the air just above it humid through the warmer months, which is exactly the condition an unsealed vent lets straight into the space under the floor.
A large share of the ranches and splits that went up around Glassboro in the postwar decades were finished with nothing more than dirt underfoot, no ground cover of any kind, so whatever moisture problem an encapsulation solves has typically been sitting there since the original framing crew closed up the floor.
A damp, unsealed crawl space is a welcoming shelter for insects and small wildlife, and once the ground gets covered with a vapor barrier and the vents are closed, that shelter and the moisture drawing it in are both gone together.
Access height, pier spacing and how the ductwork runs through a Glassboro crawl space all change how the barrier gets cut and fitted around them, which is why the free inspection covers the whole space rather than a quick look from the access hatch.

We just had our attic insulation replaced, and the entire experience was pleasant from start to finish. Robert is knowledgeable, honest and easy to work with at the initial estimate period. Roberta and his crew did a great job replacing the attic insulation for our house. They were very professional, efficient and respectful. They did everything that needed to be done and left the space clean and in excellent condition. I am very happy that I chose Master Attic and would highly recommend them.
Dan Jones and the Ronald crew did a great job from start to finish! I had original insulation in my attic with no electricity, not an easy job. Our upstairs was very hot in the summer and cold in winter. With having central air, we still needed AC units and space heaters to manage. Dan set up a great plan to eliminate that. He and his crew were able to come and finish the job shortly after we first met. They were quick, clean and managed to crawl into small spaces to remove old insulation and install fresh insulation. We have already noticed a major difference! Highly recommended!!
We hired Master Attic to clean out debris, mice, old insulation, and replace with new insulation in both our attic spaces. Roberto and his crew did a phenomenal job. They were extremely professional, polite, and did a fantastic job. They invited my husband to see the attic after each step, and took pictures on their phone to show me since I could not get up in the attic. They took the time to protect the space with plastic sheeting before the job up in the attic, and then cleaned up everything perfectly afterwards. I highly recommend them!
Great job by the team. Cleaned out the entire attic and replaced all the old insulation with new fresh insulation. Made a huge difference. Alex was great to work with and was very professional. Would highly recommend.
Awesome experience from start to finish. Rob provided a great assessment and capabilities overview, arrived on time and was very generous and thorough in explaining the work. I signed on the spot. A crew of six arrived (again, on time) and completely transformed our attic space - thoroughly cleaned out the old insulation (looked spotless afterwards), sanitized the space, sealed it/rodent proofed it, added baffles and of course, replaced the insulation and added more in areas that needed it. Completed the whole job in half a day and we are delighted with the result. Thank you, Master Attic team, for a job very well done! Highest recommendation.
What a great experience I had with this company and its employees. It started with initially interacting with Joe who came out for the estimate. He was funny because he came down from my attic and said "have you seen up there". I laughed because I had and I knew it was bad. He was no pressure and no nonsense. Gave me an estimate and said if I wanted we could have the work done next day. I wasn't ready for that but after some schedule juggling I told him we could be ready. Joe had his guys out next morning with the best part being Jorge calling me to advise he was about thirty minutes out. I appreciate when I am given a heads up as to ETA. Three of them arrived Jorge set out plastic and covered exposed furniture. Jorge, Angel and Gonzalo were all polite and worked hard to complete the task. They worked efficiently and were done quickly. Jorge made sure he included me in each step of the process and when I saw the finished product I was amazed. I can actually use my attic for storage if I choose to do so. I did not realize when they were here that they also do work on crawlspace areas. I will be calling them back to see what they can do for my crawlspace which easily rivals the diasaster called my attic. I recommend at least giving this company and its employees an opportunity to help you.
Great company to work with. From beginning to end, Dan came out, spent plenty of time with me going over everything that needed to be done, and the process of everything that needed to be updated it both attics. His professionalism was top notch, answered all my question and concerns. When it came time for George and his six-man crew to do the work their quality of workmanship was well above average, they were here the whole day, and I don't think they even had a lunch break (hopefully I don't get him in trouble). They all worked and everyone knew what their job was, they removed all the insulation, cleaned, spray foamed all holes and top plates, re-insulated both attics and cleaned up like they weren't even here. Will definitely use them again.
Master Attic remediated a bat issue for us back in October and I can’t say enough about what a wonderful job they did. The work was guaranteed and they encouraged us to call if we say any further evidence of bats. Well, there were a few droppings in the attic and they quickly responded to our concerns. Jose’s crew came out on a SUNDAY, inspected the attic, and sealed up several spots that could be entry points. They were professional, efficient, and kind. I would highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.
Crawl Space Encapsulation in Glassboro: Questions We Get
How much of a Glassboro crawl space does encapsulation actually cover?
Everything the ground touches: the floor of the crawl space, up the foundation walls, around every support pier, and any pipe or duct that pokes through. On the west side toward Delsea Drive, where a crawl space is more common than a full basement, that usually means covering sandy soil that has sat bare and unsealed since the house went up.
How long does a crawl space encapsulation job take?
How big the crawl space is matters less than what has to happen before the vapor barrier can go down. A dry, empty crawl space with no old debris is a fast turnaround; one that needs insulation pulled and cleaned out first takes noticeably more time. We give an actual schedule after walking a specific Glassboro crawl space, not from a general rule of thumb.
Are there NJ incentives for crawl space work in Atlantic City Electric territory?
Encapsulation on its own is a moisture and air-sealing project rather than an insulation purchase, so it does not always line up with a rebate program by itself. When new insulation is added as part of the same job, that portion can sometimes qualify under whatever the NJ Clean Energy Program is currently offering. We will walk through what applies at the estimate.
Does a Glassboro crawl space liner need any maintenance after it goes in?
Master Attic does not put the liner on a countdown; it is built to hold up on its own. The real question is whether anything has disturbed it, a support pier that settled, ground that shifted after a heavy Gloucester County rain, a seam that worked loose. We check for exactly that whenever a Glassboro property already has us back for another job, instead of scheduling a separate maintenance visit most liners never actually need.
How do you decide what a specific Glassboro crawl space needs?
The inspection looks at how wet the ground currently sits, whether old insulation is contaminated or sagging, where the vents and penetrations are, and how the crawl space connects to the rest of the house. Where a Glassboro crawl space is genuinely sitting in standing water, getting that water out is a separate job first, pumped or dried before a liner makes any sense, since the barrier only holds moisture back rather than clearing water already on the ground. A ranch built directly over sandy soil west of Delsea Drive often needs more attention at the ground than a newer build near Rowan Boulevard.
Is old insulation always pulled before a vapor barrier goes in?
Not automatically. It comes out when it is wet, moldy, or shows signs rodents have been in it, which is a frequent find in Glassboro crawl spaces that have not been looked at in a while. Dry material with no damage can sometimes stay put while the barrier is installed around it, decided case by case at the inspection.
Do you seal crawl spaces anywhere besides Glassboro itself?
Every town that borders Glassboro is regular territory: Washington Township and Elk Township to the west, Mantua to the east, Clayton and Pitman further along Route 55. Coverage extends across the rest of Gloucester County and into Camden County toward Cherry Hill as well. A property just outside these lines is still worth a call.
Is encapsulation worth it in a newer Glassboro house near Rowan Boulevard, or only in the older stock?
Newer construction still gets built over bare or minimally sealed ground more often than homeowners expect, since a full encapsulation is frequently skipped at construction to save time on the build. A crawl space finished five years ago near Rowan Boulevard can need the same sealing work as a much older one west of Delsea Drive.
