Master Attic did a phenomenal job with our attic insulation and duct replacement. We had a loss from smoke damage from a neighboring fire and we were met with compassion and excellent customer service from Danny Jones and Jorge Diaz. We chose them for their quality of work, expertise and fair pricing and they got the job done promptly. Thank you for the excellent work and we will be recommending you highly!

Insulating a Bridgeton Crawl Space Floor
Not every part of Bridgeton sits over a crawl space. Downtown's rowhouses and doubles mostly rest on stone or brick foundations with a cellar underneath, while Hillside and Southside, built up mostly in the decades after the historic district, carry true crawl spaces under their bungalows and ranches. Many of those crawl spaces went in with no floor insulation at all, since that was standard practice for the era, which leaves cold floors and higher heating bills in a house that has otherwise held up well.
Fitting batts into the joist bays is the core of the job: material goes in snugly enough that no gap is left for the crawl space's cooler, damper air to work its way up into the rooms overhead. Before any of that starts, we check the joists and subfloor for rot or damage, and pull anything already sagging or waterlogged, since new material stapled over a failing layer only buries what needs fixing. The rim joist, the band where framing sits over the foundation, gets its own attention too, since it typically bleeds more outside air into a Bridgeton crawl space than the open bays ever do.
Batts alone do not stop ground moisture from working up through a dirt floor, so for a Hillside or Southside crawl space sitting near Bridgeton's high water table, we raise whether a sealed liner should be part of the same job. What that specific crawl space actually needs gets decided during a no-cost walk-through, and the recommendation that follows is written into the estimate rather than assumed in advance.
What New Crawlspace Insulation in Bridgeton Includes
New insulation in a Bridgeton crawl space rarely stands alone; these six often ride along on the same no-cost inspection.
Why Bridgeton Crawl Spaces Still Lack Floor Insulation
Four patterns keep showing up whenever we quote new crawl space insulation in Bridgeton.
A large share of what's under Hillside and Southside bungalows never got floor insulation to begin with; it simply wasn't part of how a crawl space was finished when those blocks went up, and the cold floor that results is usually the first thing a household actually notices.
A crawl space that has stayed vented and unbothered for a long stretch tends to attract more than dust. Any insulation already down there becomes a place for mice to settle, so in Bridgeton's older sections, clearing that out comes before a single new batt goes in.
Fitting new batts into a Bridgeton crawl space without dealing with the tidal water table nearby is a fix that fades fast. Closer to the Cohansey, in the lower sections of town, insulation put in on its own usually starts absorbing groundwater within a couple of seasons rather than staying dry for good.
Older Bridgeton crawl spaces already had plumbing and ductwork routed through the joists long before anyone considered insulating them, so fitting new batts snugly around all of that now takes real care rather than the clean install a brand-new house would get.

We just had our attic insulation replaced, and the entire experience was pleasant from start to finish. Robert is knowledgeable, honest and easy to work with at the initial estimate period. Roberta and his crew did a great job replacing the attic insulation for our house. They were very professional, efficient and respectful. They did everything that needed to be done and left the space clean and in excellent condition. I am very happy that I chose Master Attic and would highly recommend them.
Dan Jones and the Ronald crew did a great job from start to finish! I had original insulation in my attic with no electricity, not an easy job. Our upstairs was very hot in the summer and cold in winter. With having central air, we still needed AC units and space heaters to manage. Dan set up a great plan to eliminate that. He and his crew were able to come and finish the job shortly after we first met. They were quick, clean and managed to crawl into small spaces to remove old insulation and install fresh insulation. We have already noticed a major difference! Highly recommended!!
We hired Master Attic to clean out debris, mice, old insulation, and replace with new insulation in both our attic spaces. Roberto and his crew did a phenomenal job. They were extremely professional, polite, and did a fantastic job. They invited my husband to see the attic after each step, and took pictures on their phone to show me since I could not get up in the attic. They took the time to protect the space with plastic sheeting before the job up in the attic, and then cleaned up everything perfectly afterwards. I highly recommend them!
Great job by the team. Cleaned out the entire attic and replaced all the old insulation with new fresh insulation. Made a huge difference. Alex was great to work with and was very professional. Would highly recommend.
Awesome experience from start to finish. Rob provided a great assessment and capabilities overview, arrived on time and was very generous and thorough in explaining the work. I signed on the spot. A crew of six arrived (again, on time) and completely transformed our attic space - thoroughly cleaned out the old insulation (looked spotless afterwards), sanitized the space, sealed it/rodent proofed it, added baffles and of course, replaced the insulation and added more in areas that needed it. Completed the whole job in half a day and we are delighted with the result. Thank you, Master Attic team, for a job very well done! Highest recommendation.
What a great experience I had with this company and its employees. It started with initially interacting with Joe who came out for the estimate. He was funny because he came down from my attic and said "have you seen up there". I laughed because I had and I knew it was bad. He was no pressure and no nonsense. Gave me an estimate and said if I wanted we could have the work done next day. I wasn't ready for that but after some schedule juggling I told him we could be ready. Joe had his guys out next morning with the best part being Jorge calling me to advise he was about thirty minutes out. I appreciate when I am given a heads up as to ETA. Three of them arrived Jorge set out plastic and covered exposed furniture. Jorge, Angel and Gonzalo were all polite and worked hard to complete the task. They worked efficiently and were done quickly. Jorge made sure he included me in each step of the process and when I saw the finished product I was amazed. I can actually use my attic for storage if I choose to do so. I did not realize when they were here that they also do work on crawlspace areas. I will be calling them back to see what they can do for my crawlspace which easily rivals the diasaster called my attic. I recommend at least giving this company and its employees an opportunity to help you.
Great company to work with. From beginning to end, Dan came out, spent plenty of time with me going over everything that needed to be done, and the process of everything that needed to be updated it both attics. His professionalism was top notch, answered all my question and concerns. When it came time for George and his six-man crew to do the work their quality of workmanship was well above average, they were here the whole day, and I don't think they even had a lunch break (hopefully I don't get him in trouble). They all worked and everyone knew what their job was, they removed all the insulation, cleaned, spray foamed all holes and top plates, re-insulated both attics and cleaned up like they weren't even here. Will definitely use them again.
Master Attic remediated a bat issue for us back in October and I can’t say enough about what a wonderful job they did. The work was guaranteed and they encouraged us to call if we say any further evidence of bats. Well, there were a few droppings in the attic and they quickly responded to our concerns. Jose’s crew came out on a SUNDAY, inspected the attic, and sealed up several spots that could be entry points. They were professional, efficient, and kind. I would highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.
New Crawlspace Insulation in Bridgeton: Questions We Get
What's actually involved in a new crawl space insulation job here?
Batts go into every joist bay snugly enough that no gap is left for outside air, the rim joist gets wrapped along with the open framing, and we confirm before starting that nothing already down there is left open for air to slip past the new material. Existing insulation that has already failed is pulled first.
What determines how long a Bridgeton crawl space insulation job runs?
An empty crawl space that just needs batts fitted between the joists is one of the faster jobs on the schedule. Add old material that has to come out first, or access tight enough to slow a crew down, and the job stretches longer. Master Attic sets the real number after walking the specific crawl space, and that figure is what shows up on the estimate.
Are there New Jersey incentives for new crawl space insulation in Bridgeton?
Atlantic City Electric supplies this part of Cumberland County, and the state's Clean Energy Program has occasionally reached crawl space work when it's bundled with broader insulation upgrades, though which projects qualify shifts from one funding cycle to the next. Bring your project up during the estimate and we'll walk through what's open at that moment.
Why do so few downtown Bridgeton properties need this particular service?
Most of downtown Bridgeton sits on stone or brick foundations with a cellar underneath rather than a true crawl space, so new crawl space insulation is mainly a Hillside and Southside service. A downtown cellar with a moisture problem is more often an encapsulation job, or a cleanup first, depending on what the inspection turns up.
How do you tell whether floor insulation alone is enough, or a liner is also needed?
It comes down to how much water has actually reached that crawl space in the past. One with a clean history, no standing water, no chronic dampness, is usually a straightforward insulation job. One nearer the tidal Cohansey often needs a sealed liner installed first, or new batts simply won't last. We confirm which situation applies during the free walk-through.
When does old insulation have to come out first?
Wet, sagging, or carrying signs that rodents nested in it, in any of those cases, yes. Putting fresh batts on top of a failing layer just conceals a problem rather than fixing it, and that situation turns up often enough under Bridgeton's older Hillside and Southside houses. Dry material with no history of contamination usually stays put.
How far past Bridgeton does your crawl space insulation coverage go?
Hopewell, Upper Deerfield, Greenwich and Fairfield Townships share a border with Bridgeton, and Vineland and Millville sit just beyond them within regular reach. Crawl spaces built without floor insulation from that same building era show up all through this stretch of Cumberland County, so the work here is far from unique to Bridgeton alone.
Will new crawl space insulation actually make the floors feel warmer?
In most Hillside and Southside ranches, yes, in a way that's easy to notice. An uninsulated dirt-floor crawl space lets cold sit right beneath the living space with nothing to stop it, and the floor is typically where a household feels the change first once every joist bay is properly filled, especially once the coldest part of winter arrives.
