Master Attic did a phenomenal job with our attic insulation and duct replacement. We had a loss from smoke damage from a neighboring fire and we were met with compassion and excellent customer service from Danny Jones and Jorge Diaz. We chose them for their quality of work, expertise and fair pricing and they got the job done promptly. Thank you for the excellent work and we will be recommending you highly!

Clearing Out a Bridgeton Crawl Space or Basement
Which part of Bridgeton a house sits in decides what's actually underneath it. In the historic district, expect a true cellar built into stone or brick, some of it from the Federal era onward, while Hillside and Southside homes were mostly finished with a crawl space once bungalows and ranches started going up there in later decades. Either kind of space accumulates the same clutter with enough neglect: insulation that's fallen or gone waterlogged, items left by whoever lived there before, evidence of rodents, and general buildup nobody's had a reason to touch.
Master Attic clears these spaces by hand or with equipment suited to the material, whichever the job calls for, removing anything that shouldn't be there, be that old lumber scraps sitting in a downtown cellar or a shredded liner in a Hillside crawl space. Rodents get an unusually easy route into a downtown cellar through the balloon-frame channel that runs down from the roofline, so where there's been activity, the whole space is sanitized once it's fully cleared, leaving nothing contaminated behind for the next step.
By itself, cleanup simply returns a crawl space or cellar to a workable, clean state, but it's frequently the prerequisite that has to happen before insulation, a sealed liner, or exclusion work can even begin. Exactly what a given Bridgeton space needs once it's clear comes down to what turns up during the process, and Master Attic writes that into the estimate rather than guessing ahead of time.
What Crawlspace & Basement Cleanup in Bridgeton Includes
A Bridgeton cleanup is rarely the whole job; these six frequently follow, and the first walk-through is always free.
What a Bridgeton Cleanup Usually Uncovers
Four patterns explain most of what a Bridgeton cleanup crew hauls out.
Stone and brick cellars under the historic district's rowhouses and doubles have held onto whatever previous owners stored there for well over a century in some cases, and none of it comes out until someone actually clears the space.
Downtown rests low enough over the Cohansey's tidal pull that the ground under it almost never fully dries, so whatever sits in a cellar or crawl space there for any length of time, insulation especially, tends to soak through and end up fit only for disposal.
A crawl space or cellar left unchecked for years in Bridgeton commonly yields droppings, nesting debris, and now and then an animal that never made it back out. Once that material is gone, Master Attic sanitizes what's left before calling the space clean.
The cleanup jobs Master Attic runs in Hillside and Southside skew heavily toward crawl spaces instead of full basements, simply reflecting how those neighborhoods went up. Our equipment and crews are set up for that low, tight kind of access as the standard case, not the exception.

We just had our attic insulation replaced, and the entire experience was pleasant from start to finish. Robert is knowledgeable, honest and easy to work with at the initial estimate period. Roberta and his crew did a great job replacing the attic insulation for our house. They were very professional, efficient and respectful. They did everything that needed to be done and left the space clean and in excellent condition. I am very happy that I chose Master Attic and would highly recommend them.
Dan Jones and the Ronald crew did a great job from start to finish! I had original insulation in my attic with no electricity, not an easy job. Our upstairs was very hot in the summer and cold in winter. With having central air, we still needed AC units and space heaters to manage. Dan set up a great plan to eliminate that. He and his crew were able to come and finish the job shortly after we first met. They were quick, clean and managed to crawl into small spaces to remove old insulation and install fresh insulation. We have already noticed a major difference! Highly recommended!!
We hired Master Attic to clean out debris, mice, old insulation, and replace with new insulation in both our attic spaces. Roberto and his crew did a phenomenal job. They were extremely professional, polite, and did a fantastic job. They invited my husband to see the attic after each step, and took pictures on their phone to show me since I could not get up in the attic. They took the time to protect the space with plastic sheeting before the job up in the attic, and then cleaned up everything perfectly afterwards. I highly recommend them!
Great job by the team. Cleaned out the entire attic and replaced all the old insulation with new fresh insulation. Made a huge difference. Alex was great to work with and was very professional. Would highly recommend.
Awesome experience from start to finish. Rob provided a great assessment and capabilities overview, arrived on time and was very generous and thorough in explaining the work. I signed on the spot. A crew of six arrived (again, on time) and completely transformed our attic space - thoroughly cleaned out the old insulation (looked spotless afterwards), sanitized the space, sealed it/rodent proofed it, added baffles and of course, replaced the insulation and added more in areas that needed it. Completed the whole job in half a day and we are delighted with the result. Thank you, Master Attic team, for a job very well done! Highest recommendation.
What a great experience I had with this company and its employees. It started with initially interacting with Joe who came out for the estimate. He was funny because he came down from my attic and said "have you seen up there". I laughed because I had and I knew it was bad. He was no pressure and no nonsense. Gave me an estimate and said if I wanted we could have the work done next day. I wasn't ready for that but after some schedule juggling I told him we could be ready. Joe had his guys out next morning with the best part being Jorge calling me to advise he was about thirty minutes out. I appreciate when I am given a heads up as to ETA. Three of them arrived Jorge set out plastic and covered exposed furniture. Jorge, Angel and Gonzalo were all polite and worked hard to complete the task. They worked efficiently and were done quickly. Jorge made sure he included me in each step of the process and when I saw the finished product I was amazed. I can actually use my attic for storage if I choose to do so. I did not realize when they were here that they also do work on crawlspace areas. I will be calling them back to see what they can do for my crawlspace which easily rivals the diasaster called my attic. I recommend at least giving this company and its employees an opportunity to help you.
Great company to work with. From beginning to end, Dan came out, spent plenty of time with me going over everything that needed to be done, and the process of everything that needed to be updated it both attics. His professionalism was top notch, answered all my question and concerns. When it came time for George and his six-man crew to do the work their quality of workmanship was well above average, they were here the whole day, and I don't think they even had a lunch break (hopefully I don't get him in trouble). They all worked and everyone knew what their job was, they removed all the insulation, cleaned, spray foamed all holes and top plates, re-insulated both attics and cleaned up like they weren't even here. Will definitely use them again.
Master Attic remediated a bat issue for us back in October and I can’t say enough about what a wonderful job they did. The work was guaranteed and they encouraged us to call if we say any further evidence of bats. Well, there were a few droppings in the attic and they quickly responded to our concerns. Jose’s crew came out on a SUNDAY, inspected the attic, and sealed up several spots that could be entry points. They were professional, efficient, and kind. I would highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.
Crawlspace & Basement Cleanup in Bridgeton: Questions We Get
What's included in a Bridgeton crawl space and basement cleanup?
Master Attic hauls out debris, insulation that's failed or gone waterlogged, and belongings a prior owner never cleared, then sanitizes the space if there's any indication rodents have been active. A downtown job usually means a stone or brick cellar, while Hillside and Southside work is almost always a crawl space, so the approach shifts to match whichever kind of access the house has.
How long does cleanup take in a Bridgeton crawl space or basement?
A crawl space or cellar with minimal buildup and dry ground clears out fast. One holding years of accumulated debris or waterlogged insulation naturally takes longer to work through safely. Master Attic settles on a real number after actually seeing the space, and that figure is what appears on the written estimate.
Are there New Jersey incentives connected to crawl space or basement cleanup in Bridgeton?
On its own, cleanup doesn't typically qualify as an incentive category since it's preparatory work rather than an efficiency measure. Once it leads into new insulation or encapsulation, though, Atlantic City Electric and New Jersey's statewide efficiency program can both become relevant, so it's worth raising when Master Attic is out for the estimate.
Do you clean stone cellars the same way as a crawl space?
The goal is the same, a clean, dry, sanitized space, but the approach differs. A downtown stone or brick cellar usually has more headroom and different debris than a Hillside or Southside crawl space, and the mortar joints in an old foundation need gentler handling than framed lumber does. Either way, the inspection tells us exactly what we are dealing with.
What actually gets pulled versus left alone during cleanup?
Anything wet, contaminated, or serving no purpose comes out, sagging insulation, a shredded liner, construction leftovers, nesting debris. Material that's dry, intact, and not in the way of something that does need attention typically stays put. Master Attic makes that call during the walk-through, before a single thing gets removed.
Is cleanup a required first step before insulation or encapsulation work?
In most cases, yes. A vapor barrier or fresh batts only perform properly against a surface that's actually clean and dry, so wherever debris, failed insulation, or standing moisture is present, cleanup happens first. Master Attic frequently lines cleanup and whatever comes after back to back rather than treating them as two separate trips.
How far outside Bridgeton does your cleanup coverage reach?
Cumberland County calls take us into Upper Deerfield, Greenwich, Fairfield and Hopewell Townships regularly, plus out to Vineland and Millville a bit further from Bridgeton. The same combination, older stone foundations closer in, newer crawl space construction further out, repeats across most of that territory.
Where does all the removed material actually go?
Everything Master Attic takes out, failed insulation, a torn liner, construction debris, anything else that doesn't belong, gets bagged or loaded out and disposed of according to local regulations. There's no pile left in the yard or driveway for a homeowner to deal with once the crew is done.
