Master Attic did a phenomenal job with our attic insulation and duct replacement. We had a loss from smoke damage from a neighboring fire and we were met with compassion and excellent customer service from Danny Jones and Jorge Diaz. We chose them for their quality of work, expertise and fair pricing and they got the job done promptly. Thank you for the excellent work and we will be recommending you highly!

How a Raccoon Job Runs in Paramus
Above the ceiling, the opening is almost never a mystery once someone is looking for it: a soffit panel worked loose, a gable vent screen torn away, or fascia gone soft enough with age to give a raccoon a claw-hold onto the roof. Finding that exact gap comes before anything else, since sealing the wrong spot only sends the animal looking for a second way in.
Below grade, the same animal takes a different route: a foundation vent whose cover has snapped off, a crawl space door that never quite latched, or skirting pried loose at a seam. Ground-level jobs in Paramus lean more on humane trapping than the attic side does, since a raccoon denning under a house with young cannot always be coaxed out through a passive opening. Either way, the exit comes first, the seal comes second.
Whichever space it was in, expect the insulation and any vapor barrier nearby to need attention once the animal is gone: flattened, torn for bedding, and soiled enough that it has to come out rather than stay. Master Attic prices the whole sequence together, tracking the entry point, clearing the animal, sealing the gap and putting the space back in order, as one free written estimate, not a string of add-ons discovered midway through the job.

Where Raccoons Get Into Paramus Attics and Crawl Spaces
The four things that come up again and again on a Paramus raccoon call.
A raccoon needs surprisingly little room to get onto a roof and into an attic, and Paramus's older soffits, gable vents and any fascia that has started to rot give them exactly that. Once one animal finds a weak spot, it tends to keep using it season after season until the gap actually gets closed.
At ground level, a raccoon looks for the same kind of opening: a foundation vent cover that has come loose, a crawl space door that does not latch, or skirting pulled away at a corner. Bergen County's high water table keeps these spaces damp, and a denning raccoon adds torn insulation on top.
Whether the den was in the attic or the crawl space, a raccoon leaves the insulation around it flattened, torn for bedding, and fouled with waste. That material rarely stays in place afterward: it gets pulled, the space is treated for sanitation, and fresh insulation follows once the opening is closed.
Fall brings raccoons looking for winter shelter, and Paramus attics and crawl spaces both qualify, while spring calls more often involve a mother with a litter that is not ready to move yet. Either pattern changes the pace of the job more than which space the animal chose.

We just had our attic insulation replaced, and the entire experience was pleasant from start to finish. Robert is knowledgeable, honest and easy to work with at the initial estimate period. Roberta and his crew did a great job replacing the attic insulation for our house. They were very professional, efficient and respectful. They did everything that needed to be done and left the space clean and in excellent condition. I am very happy that I chose Master Attic and would highly recommend them.
Dan Jones and the Ronald crew did a great job from start to finish! I had original insulation in my attic with no electricity, not an easy job. Our upstairs was very hot in the summer and cold in winter. With having central air, we still needed AC units and space heaters to manage. Dan set up a great plan to eliminate that. He and his crew were able to come and finish the job shortly after we first met. They were quick, clean and managed to crawl into small spaces to remove old insulation and install fresh insulation. We have already noticed a major difference! Highly recommended!!
We hired Master Attic to clean out debris, mice, old insulation, and replace with new insulation in both our attic spaces. Roberto and his crew did a phenomenal job. They were extremely professional, polite, and did a fantastic job. They invited my husband to see the attic after each step, and took pictures on their phone to show me since I could not get up in the attic. They took the time to protect the space with plastic sheeting before the job up in the attic, and then cleaned up everything perfectly afterwards. I highly recommend them!
Great job by the team. Cleaned out the entire attic and replaced all the old insulation with new fresh insulation. Made a huge difference. Alex was great to work with and was very professional. Would highly recommend.
Awesome experience from start to finish. Rob provided a great assessment and capabilities overview, arrived on time and was very generous and thorough in explaining the work. I signed on the spot. A crew of six arrived (again, on time) and completely transformed our attic space - thoroughly cleaned out the old insulation (looked spotless afterwards), sanitized the space, sealed it/rodent proofed it, added baffles and of course, replaced the insulation and added more in areas that needed it. Completed the whole job in half a day and we are delighted with the result. Thank you, Master Attic team, for a job very well done! Highest recommendation.
What a great experience I had with this company and its employees. It started with initially interacting with Joe who came out for the estimate. He was funny because he came down from my attic and said "have you seen up there". I laughed because I had and I knew it was bad. He was no pressure and no nonsense. Gave me an estimate and said if I wanted we could have the work done next day. I wasn't ready for that but after some schedule juggling I told him we could be ready. Joe had his guys out next morning with the best part being Jorge calling me to advise he was about thirty minutes out. I appreciate when I am given a heads up as to ETA. Three of them arrived Jorge set out plastic and covered exposed furniture. Jorge, Angel and Gonzalo were all polite and worked hard to complete the task. They worked efficiently and were done quickly. Jorge made sure he included me in each step of the process and when I saw the finished product I was amazed. I can actually use my attic for storage if I choose to do so. I did not realize when they were here that they also do work on crawlspace areas. I will be calling them back to see what they can do for my crawlspace which easily rivals the diasaster called my attic. I recommend at least giving this company and its employees an opportunity to help you.
Great company to work with. From beginning to end, Dan came out, spent plenty of time with me going over everything that needed to be done, and the process of everything that needed to be updated it both attics. His professionalism was top notch, answered all my question and concerns. When it came time for George and his six-man crew to do the work their quality of workmanship was well above average, they were here the whole day, and I don't think they even had a lunch break (hopefully I don't get him in trouble). They all worked and everyone knew what their job was, they removed all the insulation, cleaned, spray foamed all holes and top plates, re-insulated both attics and cleaned up like they weren't even here. Will definitely use them again.
Master Attic remediated a bat issue for us back in October and I can’t say enough about what a wonderful job they did. The work was guaranteed and they encouraged us to call if we say any further evidence of bats. Well, there were a few droppings in the attic and they quickly responded to our concerns. Jose’s crew came out on a SUNDAY, inspected the attic, and sealed up several spots that could be entry points. They were professional, efficient, and kind. I would highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.
Raccoon Removal in Paramus: Questions We Get
Where does a raccoon actually break into a Paramus attic or crawl space?
Above the roofline nine times out of ten: a soffit panel worked loose, a torn gable vent screen, or fascia gone soft enough to give a claw-hold. Underneath the house it is a different story, usually a foundation vent with a missing cover, a crawl door that never sealed tight, or a stretch of skirting pried away at the seam. Either spot, the animal is exploiting something already weak, not creating an opening from nothing.
How long does raccoon removal take from start to finish?
That depends on what we are dealing with. An adult raccoon working through a clear one-way door usually clears out on its own timeline once it can no longer get back inside. A den with young, or a job that also needs cleanup and sealing, stretches longer. Before any work starts, we go over what to realistically expect for your particular attic or crawl space.
Are there incentives if a raccoon job includes new attic insulation?
The removal and exclusion work itself is not the kind of thing utility programs reward, but insulation replaced afterward because of raccoon damage sometimes is, since PSE&G territory here has qualified for New Jersey's efficiency programs in prior years. We will confirm what currently applies once we know the scope of your repair.
Is a raccoon in the crawl space as urgent as one in the attic?
Yes. A raccoon at ground level can still tear insulation, foul a vapor barrier and chew at wiring or ductwork running through the crawl space, and a mother denning there is just as protective of her young as one in an attic. We treat crawl space calls with the same urgency, not as a lesser version of an attic job.
When does Master Attic use a one-way exit instead of a trap?
Whenever the entry point is clean and the raccoon is old and mobile enough to forage its own way out once it gets hungry, which covers the majority of attic situations we see in Paramus. Trapping becomes the better tool when that will not hold, most often a den with young still too dependent to leave voluntarily, or an opening too irregular to fit a one-way door properly. The condition of the entry point and whether young are involved settles it, not a fixed policy.
Could sealing the opening trap a raccoon inside by mistake?
It could, which is exactly why sealing always happens last, never first. Closing an opening while a raccoon, or a litter of young, is still on the other side turns a wildlife call into something far worse. We confirm the space is empty before any permanent seal goes on, so nothing gets shut in by accident.
Do you handle raccoon calls outside Paramus as well?
Yes, throughout Bergen County. Oradell and River Edge are close enough to be routine stops, along with Hackensack, Ridgewood, Fair Lawn and Glen Rock, and crews cover the rest of the county on top of that. Wildlife calls do not wait well, so we try to keep response times short across the whole area.
If one raccoon gets removed, will another just move in?
It can happen, but only if the opening itself is still there. A raccoon that exploited a weak spot once is not the last animal that will try it, and an unsealed gap reads as an invitation to whatever comes along next, raccoon or otherwise. Pairing removal with sealing the same entry point is what actually breaks that cycle in Paramus.
