Master Attic did a phenomenal job with our attic insulation and duct replacement. We had a loss from smoke damage from a neighboring fire and we were met with compassion and excellent customer service from Danny Jones and Jorge Diaz. We chose them for their quality of work, expertise and fair pricing and they got the job done promptly. Thank you for the excellent work and we will be recommending you highly!

Getting New Insulation Into an Old Bridge Crawl Space
New crawl space insulation in Old Bridge, NJ usually gets scheduled for one of two reasons: the space never had proper insulation to begin with, common in split-level foundations built during the township's fastest growing decades, or what was installed years ago has broken down and stopped doing its job. Either way, the floor above the crawl space is only as protected as what is between it and the ground.
Before anything goes in, we check the condition the space is already in. Old or damaged material comes out first, gaps around sill plates, rim joists and utility penetrations get sealed so the new insulation is not fighting a steady draft, and where standing moisture has been an issue, a liner goes down too, common enough close to Laurence Harbor and in a few of the lower-lying inland lots.
New batts or rolls go in against the sealed rim joist and across the floor once that prep work is done, sized to the joist bays rather than forced to fit. Everything gets put in writing before any of it is scheduled, since a bungalow-lot foundation near the bay and a drier split-level lot further inland rarely call for exactly the same combination of work.
What New Crawlspace Insulation in Old Bridge Includes
New insulation is one piece of a larger crawl space plan for most Old Bridge jobs, these five related services round it out, starting with a no-cost inspection.
What New Insulation Finds in Old Bridge Crawl Spaces
Four conditions that lead to most new-insulation calls in Old Bridge crawl spaces.
A lot of the split-level construction that filled in Old Bridge during the township's boom decades left crawl spaces bare or lightly insulated by today's standard, since the guidance builders followed then asked for far less than current energy-code guidance does.
Even where the crawl space floor has insulation, the rim joist around the perimeter is frequently left bare, and that gap lets outside air move freely into the space no matter how well the rest of the floor is covered.
Bungalow-lot crawl spaces close to Raritan Bay stay damp often enough that new insulation needs a vapor barrier alongside it, otherwise the same moisture that broke down the last insulation starts working on the new material right away.
Crawl spaces that previously had a rodent problem sometimes still have the gap that let the animal in, and new insulation installed over that opening only gives the next mouse a fresh place to nest.

We just had our attic insulation replaced, and the entire experience was pleasant from start to finish. Robert is knowledgeable, honest and easy to work with at the initial estimate period. Roberta and his crew did a great job replacing the attic insulation for our house. They were very professional, efficient and respectful. They did everything that needed to be done and left the space clean and in excellent condition. I am very happy that I chose Master Attic and would highly recommend them.
Dan Jones and the Ronald crew did a great job from start to finish! I had original insulation in my attic with no electricity, not an easy job. Our upstairs was very hot in the summer and cold in winter. With having central air, we still needed AC units and space heaters to manage. Dan set up a great plan to eliminate that. He and his crew were able to come and finish the job shortly after we first met. They were quick, clean and managed to crawl into small spaces to remove old insulation and install fresh insulation. We have already noticed a major difference! Highly recommended!!
We hired Master Attic to clean out debris, mice, old insulation, and replace with new insulation in both our attic spaces. Roberto and his crew did a phenomenal job. They were extremely professional, polite, and did a fantastic job. They invited my husband to see the attic after each step, and took pictures on their phone to show me since I could not get up in the attic. They took the time to protect the space with plastic sheeting before the job up in the attic, and then cleaned up everything perfectly afterwards. I highly recommend them!
Great job by the team. Cleaned out the entire attic and replaced all the old insulation with new fresh insulation. Made a huge difference. Alex was great to work with and was very professional. Would highly recommend.
Awesome experience from start to finish. Rob provided a great assessment and capabilities overview, arrived on time and was very generous and thorough in explaining the work. I signed on the spot. A crew of six arrived (again, on time) and completely transformed our attic space - thoroughly cleaned out the old insulation (looked spotless afterwards), sanitized the space, sealed it/rodent proofed it, added baffles and of course, replaced the insulation and added more in areas that needed it. Completed the whole job in half a day and we are delighted with the result. Thank you, Master Attic team, for a job very well done! Highest recommendation.
What a great experience I had with this company and its employees. It started with initially interacting with Joe who came out for the estimate. He was funny because he came down from my attic and said "have you seen up there". I laughed because I had and I knew it was bad. He was no pressure and no nonsense. Gave me an estimate and said if I wanted we could have the work done next day. I wasn't ready for that but after some schedule juggling I told him we could be ready. Joe had his guys out next morning with the best part being Jorge calling me to advise he was about thirty minutes out. I appreciate when I am given a heads up as to ETA. Three of them arrived Jorge set out plastic and covered exposed furniture. Jorge, Angel and Gonzalo were all polite and worked hard to complete the task. They worked efficiently and were done quickly. Jorge made sure he included me in each step of the process and when I saw the finished product I was amazed. I can actually use my attic for storage if I choose to do so. I did not realize when they were here that they also do work on crawlspace areas. I will be calling them back to see what they can do for my crawlspace which easily rivals the diasaster called my attic. I recommend at least giving this company and its employees an opportunity to help you.
Great company to work with. From beginning to end, Dan came out, spent plenty of time with me going over everything that needed to be done, and the process of everything that needed to be updated it both attics. His professionalism was top notch, answered all my question and concerns. When it came time for George and his six-man crew to do the work their quality of workmanship was well above average, they were here the whole day, and I don't think they even had a lunch break (hopefully I don't get him in trouble). They all worked and everyone knew what their job was, they removed all the insulation, cleaned, spray foamed all holes and top plates, re-insulated both attics and cleaned up like they weren't even here. Will definitely use them again.
Master Attic remediated a bat issue for us back in October and I can’t say enough about what a wonderful job they did. The work was guaranteed and they encouraged us to call if we say any further evidence of bats. Well, there were a few droppings in the attic and they quickly responded to our concerns. Jose’s crew came out on a SUNDAY, inspected the attic, and sealed up several spots that could be entry points. They were professional, efficient, and kind. I would highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.
New Crawlspace Insulation in Old Bridge: Questions We Get
What's included when Master Attic installs new crawl space insulation in Old Bridge?
Air sealing at the sill plate, rim joist and any utility penetrations comes first, then new batts or rolls go in across the floor sized to the joist bays. Where standing moisture has been a recurring issue, which shows up most in the bungalow-lot and lower inland lots around town, a liner goes down too. What is included depends on what the inspection finds in your specific crawl space.
What's a typical timeframe for installing new crawl space insulation in Old Bridge?
It depends on the condition of the space going in. A crawl space that just needs insulation and sealing moves along at a good pace; one that needs old material removed or a barrier added first takes more time. We put the expected timing for your specific crawl space into the written estimate so you know what to plan around.
Are there any current incentives for new crawl space insulation in Old Bridge?
PSE&G serves Old Bridge, and crawl space insulation upgrades have shown up on the NJ Clean Energy Program's funded list in past cycles, though eligibility shifts as programs get renewed. We check the current listing and flag anything your job might qualify for while we are on site.
Is a vapor barrier included with new crawl space insulation, or is that a separate job?
It depends on the crawl space. Drier inland lots sometimes only need the insulation and air sealing, while standing moisture near Laurence Harbor or in lower-lying pockets further inland usually calls for a barrier as part of that same inspection. The plan comes from what the crawl space is doing, not a standard package we apply everywhere.
How do you decide what a specific Old Bridge crawl space needs?
We check whether insulation is already there and what shape it is in, how much air is moving through gaps at the sill and rim joist, and how wet the ground already is. A drier inland split-level foundation and a bungalow-lot crawl space near Laurence Harbor often end up with different combinations of insulation, sealing and barrier, based on what that inspection turns up.
Should old crawl space insulation be pulled out first, or can new material go over it?
If it is dry, intact and not blocking the areas that need to be sealed, it can sometimes stay. Once it has sagged, gotten wet or come apart, which happens often in the bungalow-lot and low-lying inland crawl spaces around Old Bridge, it comes out first so the new insulation is not installed over a problem that is still active.
How far outside Old Bridge do your crews go for new crawl space insulation?
The same crews installing crawl space insulation in Old Bridge also reach Sayreville and East Brunswick on that same Middlesex County side, cross over for Matawan, Aberdeen and Marlboro once you're in Monmouth County, and cover Edison as part of the regular Middlesex County route. Scheduling a job in any of those towns tends to line up easily with an Old Bridge visit, since crews are routed through this stretch of central Jersey on a regular basis.
Will new crawl space insulation actually make an Old Bridge split-level feel warmer upstairs?
It helps most when it is paired with sealing the air gaps first, because insulation by itself does very little about air still moving through an unsealed rim joist or sill plate. Split-level floors sit closer to an unheated crawl space than a colonial's does, so that combination tends to make a real difference at the floor.
