Master Attic did a phenomenal job with our attic insulation and duct replacement. We had a loss from smoke damage from a neighboring fire and we were met with compassion and excellent customer service from Danny Jones and Jorge Diaz. We chose them for their quality of work, expertise and fair pricing and they got the job done promptly. Thank you for the excellent work and we will be recommending you highly!

How We Clean Up an Attic in Freehold
A Freehold attic cleanup usually means pulling out failed insulation, evidence of wildlife, and years of general debris, not just clearing space. That kind of contamination sits under whatever a Georgia colonial or a Downtown Freehold attic has stored for years, so we check the insulation and framing underneath for damage and note anything that needs to come out instead of just being cleaned around.
Where insulation is contaminated with droppings or has been used as a nesting spot, it gets pulled out rather than cleaned in place, and once the debris is gone, the attic gets a family-safe sanitizing treatment. Containment goes up before any of this starts, so dust and whatever the animals left behind stays out of the rooms below.
The estimate covers what we find in writing: what has to be removed, what can be cleaned and left, and what condition the attic is in once it's clear. Most Freehold attics need some combination of the two, and it's the inspection that determines exactly which parts apply to yours.

Six services a Freehold attic cleanup often turns into, all starting with the same free inspection.
What We Find in a Freehold Attic Cleanup
These are the conditions we run into most once we're actually up in a Freehold attic clearing it out.
Attics in both the borough and the township tend to collect whatever a family doesn't have room for downstairs, and in an older Broad Street or Peach Orchard house that can mean decades of boxes stacked directly on top of insulation that was never rated to be walked on or piled up in the first place.
Once a squirrel or raccoon has been in a Freehold attic, droppings, torn insulation and nesting material are usually spread well beyond wherever the animal actually slept, especially in the tree-shaded lots near Georgia and Stonehurst where access to the roofline is easiest.
Loose debris and old insulation fibers settle around the soffit and ridge vents over the years, and once airflow is blocked the attic holds more moisture than it should, especially in the township's crawl-space-and-attic houses where damp air already has fewer places to escape.
Stored boxes and old flooring laid over the joists cover up exactly the areas, the eaves, the hatch, the chimney chase, where an inspection needs a clear line of sight, so clearing the clutter is usually the first real step in figuring out what a Freehold attic actually needs.

We just had our attic insulation replaced, and the entire experience was pleasant from start to finish. Robert is knowledgeable, honest and easy to work with at the initial estimate period. Roberta and his crew did a great job replacing the attic insulation for our house. They were very professional, efficient and respectful. They did everything that needed to be done and left the space clean and in excellent condition. I am very happy that I chose Master Attic and would highly recommend them.
Dan Jones and the Ronald crew did a great job from start to finish! I had original insulation in my attic with no electricity, not an easy job. Our upstairs was very hot in the summer and cold in winter. With having central air, we still needed AC units and space heaters to manage. Dan set up a great plan to eliminate that. He and his crew were able to come and finish the job shortly after we first met. They were quick, clean and managed to crawl into small spaces to remove old insulation and install fresh insulation. We have already noticed a major difference! Highly recommended!!
We hired Master Attic to clean out debris, mice, old insulation, and replace with new insulation in both our attic spaces. Roberto and his crew did a phenomenal job. They were extremely professional, polite, and did a fantastic job. They invited my husband to see the attic after each step, and took pictures on their phone to show me since I could not get up in the attic. They took the time to protect the space with plastic sheeting before the job up in the attic, and then cleaned up everything perfectly afterwards. I highly recommend them!
Great job by the team. Cleaned out the entire attic and replaced all the old insulation with new fresh insulation. Made a huge difference. Alex was great to work with and was very professional. Would highly recommend.
Awesome experience from start to finish. Rob provided a great assessment and capabilities overview, arrived on time and was very generous and thorough in explaining the work. I signed on the spot. A crew of six arrived (again, on time) and completely transformed our attic space - thoroughly cleaned out the old insulation (looked spotless afterwards), sanitized the space, sealed it/rodent proofed it, added baffles and of course, replaced the insulation and added more in areas that needed it. Completed the whole job in half a day and we are delighted with the result. Thank you, Master Attic team, for a job very well done! Highest recommendation.
What a great experience I had with this company and its employees. It started with initially interacting with Joe who came out for the estimate. He was funny because he came down from my attic and said "have you seen up there". I laughed because I had and I knew it was bad. He was no pressure and no nonsense. Gave me an estimate and said if I wanted we could have the work done next day. I wasn't ready for that but after some schedule juggling I told him we could be ready. Joe had his guys out next morning with the best part being Jorge calling me to advise he was about thirty minutes out. I appreciate when I am given a heads up as to ETA. Three of them arrived Jorge set out plastic and covered exposed furniture. Jorge, Angel and Gonzalo were all polite and worked hard to complete the task. They worked efficiently and were done quickly. Jorge made sure he included me in each step of the process and when I saw the finished product I was amazed. I can actually use my attic for storage if I choose to do so. I did not realize when they were here that they also do work on crawlspace areas. I will be calling them back to see what they can do for my crawlspace which easily rivals the diasaster called my attic. I recommend at least giving this company and its employees an opportunity to help you.
Great company to work with. From beginning to end, Dan came out, spent plenty of time with me going over everything that needed to be done, and the process of everything that needed to be updated it both attics. His professionalism was top notch, answered all my question and concerns. When it came time for George and his six-man crew to do the work their quality of workmanship was well above average, they were here the whole day, and I don't think they even had a lunch break (hopefully I don't get him in trouble). They all worked and everyone knew what their job was, they removed all the insulation, cleaned, spray foamed all holes and top plates, re-insulated both attics and cleaned up like they weren't even here. Will definitely use them again.
Master Attic remediated a bat issue for us back in October and I can’t say enough about what a wonderful job they did. The work was guaranteed and they encouraged us to call if we say any further evidence of bats. Well, there were a few droppings in the attic and they quickly responded to our concerns. Jose’s crew came out on a SUNDAY, inspected the attic, and sealed up several spots that could be entry points. They were professional, efficient, and kind. I would highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.
Attic Cleanup in Freehold: Questions We Get
What's involved when Master Attic cleans out a Freehold attic?
We clear out debris, boxes and any old insulation that's damaged or contaminated, check the framing and vents underneath for damage or blockage, and sanitize the space if droppings, a nest or an odor turned up. What's left after that gets written up with a recommendation for whatever the attic still needs, insulation, sealing, or nothing more than what we already did.
How long does a Freehold attic cleanup take?
Light clutter in a township attic with easy access clears out fast. Decades of stored belongings in a Freehold Borough attic, or a heavier mess left by wildlife, stretches the job out because more has to be sorted, sanitized and hauled away. Once we've walked the attic, we'll have a real number for how long yours will take, spelled out in the estimate.
Are there NJ Clean Energy incentives tied to attic cleanup work in Freehold?
Not for the cleanup labor, but the insulation that sometimes gets replaced afterward can qualify. JCP&L is the utility here, and New Jersey's Clean Energy Program has, in past years, put money behind that kind of work. Since what's covered moves around from year to year, we look into the current options together during your estimate.
Do you clean attics that are just cluttered, with no insulation or wildlife problem?
Yes. Plenty of the calls we get in Freehold are just storage that got out of hand, nothing damaged or contaminated underneath it. We'll still check the insulation, framing and vents while we're up there as part of the inspection, but if everything underneath is fine, the job is exactly what it sounds like: clearing the attic out.
How do you decide what to remove versus what to just clean?
Condition is the deciding factor. Dust and light debris usually just get cleared, while insulation that's wet, crushed or has droppings mixed into it comes out entirely rather than being cleaned in place. A lot of the older attics we open downtown in Freehold Borough carry enough age and past wildlife activity that removal ends up being part of the job.
After a Freehold attic cleanup, is new insulation automatically part of the job?
Only if it was removed, and it's not removed unless it's damaged, contaminated or badly compressed. A Freehold attic that just needed clutter and dust cleared can be left as is, while one where insulation had to come out gets a recommendation for what to put back, priced separately in the same estimate.
Does Master Attic clean attics outside of Freehold too?
Yes, all through Monmouth County: Marlboro, Howell and Colts Neck all touch Freehold Township's borders, Manalapan is a short drive further along, Millstone Township sits out past that, and coverage extends to Jackson across the Ocean County line as well. Attic cleanup calls come in from that whole area on a regular basis.
Will an attic cleanup help with musty smells in the rooms below?
Frequently, yes, assuming the smell is actually coming from up there. Old insulation, trapped moisture or wildlife droppings can all carry odor down through the ceiling into the living space below, and clearing and sanitizing the attic removes the source instead of just masking it. If something else is causing it, the inspection usually catches that too.
